Martial Arts

I want to start some form of martial arts to keep fit and for something to keep me occupied. I usually go the gym 4 times a week but would sooner go twice and do a martial arts class twice a week too. I don't fancy kickboxing or Karate, so any other ideas? I quite fancy capoeira (brazilian floor fighting style like Eddie from Tekken) as it would be great for increasing strength and is very challenging to learn but I dont think I could find any classes in St. Helens for that.

Tai Chi also sounds interesting, although seems to be more meditation based than combat.
