These c**** have been getting away with murder, tapping up players for years and disguising it as "election promises"

Milan declare war on Madrid

By Phil Jackson - Created on 26 Jul 2006

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has declared war on Real Madrid over the tactics used to try to lure Kaka to Spain.

The young Brazilian playmaker has been the subject of much speculation this summer with the Liga giants at the centre of the storm.

Ramon Calderon claimed to have agreed a personal deal with the World Cup ace in the run up to his election as club president on July 3.

Galliani has now come out to slam Calderon and director of sports Pedrag Mijatovic and has stepped up the rivalry between the footballing giants to epic proportions.

"For 50 years Real has been the greatest club in the world but now they have thrown all that out of the window," Galliani told Marca.

"This Real does nothing to honour its history or its name"

Kaka extended his contract at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in June until 2011, and the Serie A side are raging against Real's new management.

"Milan declares war on Real - you can write it like that - and it will do everything it can to make their life impossible," Galliani added.

"Kaka is not going to leave here, but if he did it would not be to Real. No one from this club will sit down and negotiate with them because what they are doing is not how great clubs work together.

"I want to clarify that these remarks are against the current Real and not the club that we all know and love."

The Italians have meanwhile, been boosted by the reduction in their sentence from the country's match-fixing scandal.

They will now be allowed to take part in next season's UEFA Champions League third qualifying round and start the coming campaign with only an eight point deficit in the league.

Milan don't tap up players, only referees. He's talking about a completely different unethical practice. :)

costa was pretty good for them when he first signed.

Milan is a very well managed club... when was the last time Milan paid over the odds.. Gilardino was a top signing and in tome will be worth 23m.. apart from the that their only c**k up has been Rui Costa.

How the f*** did they cough up 28 million for him? Shocking decision.

Didn't they pay a ridiculous amount for a player ( can't think of his name ) who got injured in a car crash ? Or am I finally losing it ?

I have to say I'm kinda with Milan in their defence of themselves regarding the match fixing. As Berlusconi put it he was the country's prime minister, the club's vice president was head of the league if they were really going fixing things do you think they'd have finished runners up?

Anyway, think it must be odds on that Real come up against Milan at some point in the CL this season after those comments.

milan have not deployed backhanded tactics in the transfer market.. when was the last time you heard milan tapping up players to unsettle them and get them on the cheap.. as for madrids history... anything under franco is tainted and should be erased from footballing history

Sure Milan have been as backhanded as anyone :D

AC Milan have just been done for cheating, the cowardly guttless wonders. Scuse me if I ain't gonna take their slagging off of another club that seriously.

Yes. They paid £13 million pound, which was world record fee at the time.

They also bought Jose Mari for a ridiculous fee from Atletico Madrid at the end of the 1990's.

Edgar Davids and Kluivert, were poor signings for them too.

They have made plenty of poor signings, but have made many more good ones.

They paid big money for the lad from Alaves whose name escapes me now who has since disappeared off the face of the planet via a loan spell at Bolton

That's the lad, is he still at Zaragoza?

They also signed Cosmin Contra, RB from Alaves in the same deal. Hardly played and ended up at West Brom for a very short period of time. No idea what happened to him either.

Contra looked a fantastic talent as well - not sure what happened there...

I think he fell victim to Milan's policy of having 40 players available for the 1st team squad. There are few decent players who just seem to disappear once they arrive at Milan.

They signed Johan Vogel, who is a solid enough defensive midfielder that never gets a game. .

In that UEFA Cup final,he did Carra about 5 times before crossing for the goal.It seemed he was just taking the piss for a while, and that he was never going to get the cross in.

Looked a top prospect,he did.
