magneto Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Assuming we do sign Pennant (or any other right winger for that matter)...who does Gerrard partner in the middle? Can Alonso, Sissoko and Gerrard play in the same 11 if Pennant plays?
Swipe Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Bellamy Gonzales Pennant Gerrard Alonso Sissoko I think that would take some beating. Especially in away games.
Knox_Harrington Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Different players for different games. It's a squad thing. Some of you seem to be struggling.
Sion Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 You can just imagine Rafa in his office laughing evily. "Think of the possibilites - MUAAHAHAHAAA"
Guest Cardie Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 We're not going to have a set team. One game Gerrard could be on the right with Alonso and Sissoko in the in the middle the next it could be Gerrard and Sissoko with ALonso on the bench and then the next Gerrard and Alonso with Sissoko on the bench. The set up I'm fairly sure of is that against Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea it'll be Sissoko and Alonso in the centre with Gerrard on the Right.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 If we had of signed Alves, I could see lots of 'possibilities' for the 3-5-2 system, and maybe even still ........Carra Hyypia AggerFinnan.............................Riise/Aurelio .......Gerrard Alonso Sissoko ............Bellamy Crouch
Ben 23 Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Bellamy Gonzales Pennant Gerrard Alonso SissokoI think that would take some beating. Especially in away games. You can't drop Crouch, especially for away games- where he was unbelievably vital last season. He, in my opinion anyway, was the main reason why we improved so greatly away from home last season, compared to the previous year. I'd just rotate between Xabi, Momo, Stevie and even Zenden for a few games. Then play all three (Sissoko, Alonso and Gerrard) in some more difficult games, with Crouch as a lone striker. Alternatively we could play the Chelski style 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation, with Bellamy right wing and Gonzalez on the left wing, if you're that desperate for Bellamy to start.

smithdown Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 This same question will be taxing opposition managers when we arrive at the ground. "Look at them!", he'll be screaming, "Possibilities! Feckin thousands of them!", on his knees weeping, pleading and pointing frantically at the scribbled geometric mess of triangles and sharp angles on the whiteboard behind him, trying to fathom it all out for his poor befuddled players who sit their open-mouthed before him.
Rimbeux Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Different players for different games. It's a squad thing. Some of you seem to be struggling. It wont go away even when it's a slap in da face reality in season
Knox_Harrington Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 It wont go away even when it's a slap in da face reality in seasonIt's f***ing ridiculous. You'd think we are obliged to only pick one eleven.
