Gmail - watch what you're saying

I sent an e-mail t'other day to one of the gentlemen on here and have been given a list of sponsored links down the side courtesy of gmail... In the said e-mail, the word maths was used once; the sponsored links are all highly specific for maths books, revision courses etc.

 

I can understand how it's done but I hadn't realised before that what I am typing is being scanned, albeit by a program.

 

I also mentioned the word drink yet nothing remotely connected has been suggested.

 

Perhaps I should type 'right winger' and find out who we should be buying.
