I think they're carefully avoiding what I believe is the main reason for the paranoia - tabloid papers and tabloid TV programmes (and Murph) which scream at them that there is a peadophile behind every bush, a drug pusher in every park, a knife-wielding hoody on every street corner.

 

The article is very welcome, but shows a massive lack of self-awareness.
