i-Pod woe

plugged the ol' shuffle in to the back of the PC last night, and the computer froze. Re-booted, did a full scan for anything nasty, tried again - same problem.

After throwing the i-Pod across the room, I re-booted again and tried a different USB port. Same result.

Anyone got any idea what the feck is going on and how I solve it? Java's been re-installed as per tradition.

 

Alternatively, anyone recommend a reasonably priced MP3 player?
