monkey puzzle Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 I want No. 19 more than I want a threesome with Cheryl Tweedy and Beyonce and by christ I'd love one of them.
Flasher Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 This Thirded Not publicly desperate as such, but inside I'm really desperate to win the league, if you see what I mean.
Jiggy Hates Jazz Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Just nice? The CL trophy is the most important trophy you can get in club level. The most coveted one. So,it surely is something more than nice. Better than nice but not as good as 19
Guest Johnie82 Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Better than nice but not as good as 19 It's certainly as good as 19
£440,000 Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 I don't think it is. The League is the most important trophy. That doesn't belittle the status of being European champions at all, but the League is the one we really need to bring home now.
Coyler Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 (edited) We're going to do it. I'm feeling it. Gerrard to be our Cantona in the tight games, the combination and rotation of forwards to click spectacularly, injuries (mockerssss) to be kept to the bare minimum. Machine-like with moments of breath-taking Spancophone magic. edit: 'Tis de Laygue I do be meaning, sor. Edited July 18, 2006 by Coyler
Candystore Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Because of the lack of top italian teams this years CL will be a lot easier to win than in previous years. I can Chelsea going all out to win it with that in mind. We are assembling a top squad, why not both?

_00_deathscar Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 The League is the one we want and need, but the European Cup is the trophy that makes a merely good team a great team.
Extraordinary Swindle Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 I can't decide between the two.In that case take both!
Guest PaulMcC Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 f*** it, we won the European Cup in 2005. I want the league badly this season.
cestrianred Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 No 19 IS THE PRIORITY! I want to win the Premiership more than anything.I grew up with us winning the league annually (or nearly!)in the 70's, 80's & early 90's and we all got a little complacent in hindsight (a scary thing). Winning No 19 would be perhaps the sweetest for me personally. Just as Big Ears No 5 was as important as No 1 to me.
Sion Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 It's been so long that anyone that says the CL over the PL is a fruitcake! 2005 showed how much easier it is to win the CL, the squad at the moment is the best we've had in a long time, we've got the best chance at the league in a long time, the CL can wait.
psl Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Definitely the league for me. I was 10 the last time we won it so have never been able to properly appreciate being champions of England.

Ah but what if we hadn't won the European Cup in 05? Which then would you pick?
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 like choosing between cats or peas. impossibleeasy peasy - I feckin hate cats
Sion Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 whoever wins the CL this coming season knows that the glory in doing so will always lack something due to the absence of the top Italian clubs.Lets win the league this season and then win the CL again within the next couple of years. That would be an Everton fans dream. IFITHADN'TABINFUR Look how much mileage they got out of our 'luckiness' in 2005.
