anny road Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 and it involves the uveiling of there new kit / sponsors and 2 new players I assume that one of them is the WBA keeper.........
Rimbeux Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 And Carrick, at that money, he'll be carried up the M-way
R A Softlad Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 There are those who speaketh of fees as high as 16 pieces of gold...
Rimbeux Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 What fees are being spoken of for Carrick? up around £14m
Ronnie Whelan Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 So an average of 15m. Obviously we would not touch him at that price as we already have the best midfield in the premiership once we sort out our RM and play 5 across the middle , but he could well be exactly what the munster want in that position.
Barnesy_10 Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 heh Spurs muyst be laughing.... they flog Carrick for 15m and buy in Zokora who is the better player for cheaper
Knox_Harrington Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 but he could well be exactly what the munster want in that position. They need two, probably three and possibly four across midfield.
MarkD Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 One of the players they have at Utd might be Senna from Villareal.
Knox_Harrington Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 We won't know if we don't bid. You may well be right on b), but I think the chance to ram some goals past Ginsoak and C.Ronaldo would be attractive to him.To be fair we may have found out with two phonecalls. One to the club, one to the player.
John am Rhein Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 what's the point in bidding if a) he doesn't want to move to us and more importantly b) they wouldn't sell to us. This is why I hate the use of the journalese word 'bid' in cases like this. It's not an auction, FFS! We won't know if we don't bid. Maybe we already have bidded in private! Or are all bids conducted through the media? To be fair we may have found out with two phonecalls. One to the club, one to the player. or just one - to Aidan O'Brien
Cobs Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 we should make a public bid just to end the speculation
John am Rhein Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 we should make a public bid just to end the speculation or risk being accused of LACKING AMBITION!!! He could be the final piece in the jigsaw!
Bailo Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 To be fair we may have found out with two phonecalls. One to the club, one to the player.Quite possibly. It's not like I'm to get in a strop because we don't sign him, just think he'd be perfect for us. or risk being accused of LACKING AMBITION!!! He could be the final piece in the jigsaw!Alves proves we lack ambition, lack a dynamic CEO and lack money already. RvN would just be the topping on an ambition-less cake.
Knox_Harrington Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 I'd love to sign him but for whatever reason it isn't going to happen.
Hightown Phil Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Or are all bids conducted through the media?or just one - to Aidan O'Brien I'll get Al Maktoum on the blower.
Jarg Armani Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 i'd offer him a jump shaped like a little castle and all the sugar lumps and handfulls of grass in the world to munch on but it wouldn't make a jot of difference i'm afraid. (has anyone else ever noticed how he looks a bit like a horse?)
MarkD Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 (has anyone else ever noticed how he looks a bit like a horse?) Neigh, not me.
M4TTA Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 (has anyone else ever noticed how he looks a bit like a horse?)Neigh, not me. nice, i see what you did there
floyd Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 any news yet ;¬)Quinton Fortune is close to sealing a move to Bolton.
AC Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 What fees are being spoken of for Carrick? mate who played YT for West Ham spoke to Carrick in Marbella and he cant wait to get to Utd, reckon spurs is a really boring club! spoke to Jenas and he said Defoe was off as well. Said about the world cup and he got really angry about Defoe not going and Wallcott etc, sounds like the whole squad were! Said Ronaldo was off and couldn't wait! Hinted that he kicked off big time after the game!! They were all absolutely smashing lads and were mingling well happy!! apart from Rio who insisted on a vip spot in the middle of the dance floor in the worst club out there and acted a c**k! mate who played at WH with him reckon he wasnt all there but a class A bloke....on the night anyway!! (picking up a few things on the way out.....just got back)
