Saw them at the Scala in King's Cross last night - I am led to beluieve this was their first London gig in 25 years!

Anyway, they were very good indeed - missed the first band and then caught Wet Dog, 3-girl band who have clearly been inspired by The Raincoats & The Au-Pairs, and were enjoyably amateurish

Double "star" spot - not just "top DJ" Mark Radcliffe but also "RT supremo" Geoff Travis, who's a lanky fecker. Funnily enough the audience was largely made up of aging blokes... though the woman stood in fornt of me managed to get utterly trashed - thes signs were there when she doubled up on her wine just before Scritti came on

Anyway, Green has clealry moved on from his 80s Armani-wear and was dressed like a Physics teacher, with the beard to match (he reminded me of legendary Shrimper Paul Clark for those who know their Essex football heroes of the 80s...)

A cracking set - most of the new album but with a few oldies smattered in - Sweetest Girl, Skank Bloc Bologna and finally Wood Beez

Their second encore they had to play a song they'd already played as they had no more rehearsed!

Very good - and the new album is very good indeed
