every world cup, you realise a whole host of players will finally hang up their boots. Thought I would put together a list. Its quite a highly regarded group this time.

I reckon Cannavaro and Nesta will still be playing centre half for Italy in four years time if they want to, and haven't decided to retire after winning it (I haven't heard that to be the case yet myself).

 

They'll both be about 36/37, and these Italian defenders go on to that age and more most of the time.

 

Just look at Baresi, Maldini, Costacurta...

I think he's 31, which would make him 35 at the next World Cup. Every chance he'll be there IMO...

Cannavaro will go on and on. He should pass Zoff's 112 caps comfortably and must have one eye on Maldini's record.
