surf Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Man Utd is expecting revenues of £3m per match this year following the expansion of Old Trafford's capacity to 76,000 That's probably £1.5m-£2m more than we make a match.

Salford council dont have as many Man U haters as Liverpool council has Liverpool FC haters Even though we could fill a stadium everybit as big as theirs, we would never be allowed to build it
Mike Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Salford council dont have as many Man U haters as Liverpool council has Liverpool FC haters Even though we could fill a stadium everybit as big as theirs, we would never be allowed to build it there is no evidence to say we could fill a stadium as big as they can - never has been.and...it doesn't matter a jot either way - as long as we can compete financially.

Andy @ Allerton Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 The longer Chelsea dominate domestically in the league - the lower Manchester Uniteds chance of paying off their debts. Their history in Europe especially is very poor given their money and influence. Long may it continue! Hurrah!

That's effictivly 30,000 more than us We would probably sell a large portion of that with season ticket waiting lists, PTS members who aren't the list etc...
Senrab_nhoj Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 That's effictivly 30,000 more than usWe would probably sell a large portion of that with season ticket waiting lists, PTS members who aren't the list etc... discount the fact that most of those on the list will likely be those PTS members... we do not have the same core match going market that Man U have, not a happy statement but it is a true one
wacko Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 discount the fact that most of those on the list will likely be those PTS members... we do not have the same core match going market that Man U have, not a happy statement but it is a true oneBut we could fill a larger stadium and we need to expand corporate revenues. The prawn sandwich brigade generate more gates in a week than the whole of Anfield. Also, we don't have half a billion in debt hanging around our necks. In face of Taggart's failure to replace his faded/fading stars (Keane, Scholes, Giggs) and the current exodus of quality players from Old Toilet, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they might finish outside the CL places next season. That would have an enormous impact on their revenues (prizes + gates) and could put them in Leeds-like danger.

Hassony Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 we've written them off almost every year since 99one day it will be true
growler Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 giggs, Scholes, horse face, Neville all will need replacing in the next two years. However, with Obi mikel, step over, and the money they'll get for the horse will give them money to rebuild. My hope is he'll buy older crap players and then next season spurs nick into the top 4 ahead of them. Its not beyond the realms of possibility. at the moment, united need: GK, RB, LM, CMx3. thats a minimum. however, look at their team reputation. they still finished second with what they have, so they certainly can't be ignored. Also we are still in early July, with another 7 weeks of the window still open. Man U have a good revenue stream, and much of that is passive, in that it comes from international fans who just love the brand.
