CaptainXabi Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Juve: -40 points to conveneintly miss relegation by 3 or 4The rest: -15 points to miss CL. After today the prosecutor hasn't the balls to lay down the law properly...probably.
Benzo-13 Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 (edited) If anything happens apart from giant fines after tonight's victory I'll be amazed... It'll all be forgotten about by September. Edited July 9, 2006 by Benzo-13
surf Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Surely after today it's easier to hand out a firmer punishment as the country is in a euphoric state anyway.
Guest Cameron Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 They'll get away with it after tonight! No way will Juve be relegated. Hope I'm proven wrong though.
Guest Sabre Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Who takes their places in the CL if they are relegated?
realtarragona Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 this would mean that most of the players would stay, or go on loan, as its only 1 season out of the top flight. Would be two seasons out of the Champions League though presumably so plenty will still want to go.
ManxRed Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 So, at what time today are they going to announce that the four clubs have been told off and had their wrists slapped, relegated.
Leo No.8 Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 If they don't relegate them, the s*** will hit the fan anyway. The clubs who want up into Serie A will be taking further legal action, and Moratti has threatened to move Inter to another country if the clubs in question aren't dealt with properly! I don't think last night will change anything - at the end of the day this affects many more clubs than just Juve, Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina, and any perceived lack of justice will cause more damage than several of the big teams spending a few seasons in the lower reaches...
Gilps Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 So, at what time today are they going to announce that the four clubs have been told off and had their wrists slapped, relegated. Still not confirmed. Wouldn't surprise me if its put off until tomorrow, so as not to put a dampner on the homecoming celebrations.
Coyler Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 If anything happens apart from giant fines after tonight's victory I'll be amazed... It'll all be forgotten about by September.Dickface was saying that on RTÉ 2 last night, that there should be an amnesty "because Juventus the club means a lot to its fans" and you can't take away people's joy. Giles asked where the joy was for the fans in finding out their team had bribed their way to the league.
Serko Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 I wonder if the teams know the outcome already as Juventus have sold Mutu to Fiorentina for £5.5million apparantly.
Raj Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 I think Juventus will be relegated to Serie C.Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio to be hit with large fines and 15 point deductions.
MarkD Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Juve to be releagted to B, the others minus 20 points - but all suspended for 12 months as a thank you for winning WC - that's my view.
Guest Cardie Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Inter to still not win the League My money would go on Roma
Flasher Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 I think the punishment will be severe. As someone mentioned above, there are too many implications for other teams, not just the four being prosecuted. I reckon more than one will be relegated. Winning the World Cup will soften the blow, allowing prosecutors to be heavy with the punishment. It will make winning the World Cup bigger than it already is, considering the circumstances.
jimmylibel Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 After the initial annoucement Juve will be relegated to Serie C, Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio to Serie B. All will also receive a fine. Upon appeal Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio will be reinstated to Serie A with a points deduction and a larger fine. Juve will also be moved to Serie B also with a points deduction. A larger deduction than the other clubs and a larger fine again.

£440,000 Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 I don't think there'll be an announcement today. The victory parade is in Rome tonight and they'll want that out of the way first. I'm sure I read somewhere that it could still be another week before we hear anything.
Gilps Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 I don't think there'll be an announcement today. The victory parade is in Rome tonight and they'll want that out of the way first. The players deserve their moment without distractions. After all they?re not accused of anything here* * well, apart from being a bunch of dirty racist cheats who provoke nice innocent geniuses into getting themselves sent off.
£440,000 Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 The one thing I've never really understood here is how the match-fixing was actually engineered. Surely it can't be done without the complicity of the players.
Leo No.8 Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Juve down to Serie C, Lazio, Fiorentina and Milan to Serie B, all with fines and points deductions...

Gilps Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 The one thing I've never really understood here is how the match-fixing was actually engineered. Surely it can't be done without the complicity of the players. Sympathetic referees appointed to key fixtures. The number of games that Juve played against teams who had key players suspended after being sent off the week before for example was shall we say a statistical anomaly
£440,000 Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 So why is Buffon facing charges from one of the regional courts handling the case?
