Oh come on that was exceptional that one. Thats the best dive of the WC so far.

He should be careful though, he could hurt himself like that.

that was the dive I was referring to when I started this thread. Look at it - the hand to knee - as if clogged - the look of pain/anguish on the face. It's almost worse than Vieira's 'on' Hamann a year or 2 ago

The best part is... at least the way it looks to me, I think he grabs the wrong leg.

I noticed that too, defender would have touched the leg away from the ref.

I was so happy with the German fans last night who whistled/jeered everytime that diving f***ing c*** got the ball.

He's no differen't to any other player and it's only being highlighted because he's Englands new excuse for another dismal showing in a major tournament.

He's more exposed, because he was being really nasty to ingerlund, their's been shocking dives/cheating in most games but Ronaldo is the only one being shown over and over again. Henry cheated to get into the final.

I think the bloke is a t***, but he's not the first or last player to dive around.

He did the same thing week in, week out down at the Theatre of 'as successful as Notts Forest in Europe'

I agree that most footballers will "dive" now and then but Ronaldo has been consistently doing it both for the mancs and for his country. Its not to highlight England's excuse in going out, the reasons for that have been debated on here for the past few weeks and it was quite obvious the manager was to blame, end of story.

I think what most people are emphasising with Ronaldo is that despite the stick and the reputation he has given himself for both the mancs and for his country is that he continues to dive. It seems to me he will go to any lengths to cheat in every game. OK we know Gerrard has dived recently and I certainly hope he cuts it out but Ronaldo like I said, has been consistently diving week in, week out.

What he has been doing in this tournament has confirmed to many fans around the country that his diving at the mancs isn't a one off, unfortunately its a mentality he has himself and it continues while he plays for his country. I think the best term to describe him is a "serial diver". Which is a shame really because the lad is obviously talented. If he cut out that part of his game I think he would be a much better player than the one we see today.

The feeling for Ronaldo and his antics hasn't just stopped there, we've now had German and Italian fans booing his every touch of the ball? Why? Are they booing him because of what happened with Rooney? I don't think so, why would Italian and German fans care about England and the English players?

In some respects I am glad he is going to La Liga, the league suits a player like him, its an ideal environment where diving isn't frowned upon as much and players go down and get free kicks under the minimal of contact compared to the Premiership.

For the record IMO Rooney got himself sent, what Ronaldo done was s***ty but it didn't affect the referees decision. As regards to his dives, a lot of players dive but the fact is Ronaldo is a serial diver, he goes down two or three times a match - its embrassing.

Is right. c*** Ronaldo isn't that bright to dive right in front of the ref.

 How did the mighty [cough Wales cough] get on in the tournament? I'm not all that bothered either way about England but the bitterness and jealously from some Welsh, Scottish and Irish is f***ing hilarious.

Is it bitterness to say that Ronaldo is being singled out for special attention in the English media that makes it look like he is the only person throwing himself to the ground or bitterness to blame him and single him out?

For the record I'm more than comfortable knowing Wales will never have a team capable of winning anything in world football, maybe if England came to terms with it then defeat wouldn't be so hard for them to take?

How dare people be upset when they lose a World Cup Quarter Final. Kill them all.

Be upset by all means, don't look for excuses and pursue them to the extreme. That's why so many countries dislike the English National team and why everybody hates the English press.

Yet some of the people are willing to support teams in our country. :hmm:

Controversial statement of the day:

I would sign Placcy given the chance. Pako and Carra would sort out the diving and stepovers in 3 weeks. He could be taught how to cross more effectively in a season. After that he would be world class (and I mean that in the true sense of the word). There, I've said it.

So would I to be honest, once he get's a bit of consistency with his end product he's going to be the best forward/winger in the world.

I find it no more remarkable than someone not supporting the country they are from...
