Guest Red Mist Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Let's hope Rafa does not make the same mistake when he let Owen slip through his fingers. Rafa, pre-empt Wigan's bid and bring Emile back home.

You can't be serious, man! Emile is a walking relegation battle. He managed to take Birmingham down, and he will do the same for Wigan. I feel sorry for Jewell that he has signed his own death warrant. The problem with Emile is that he will never make use of his superb physique to shrug off defenders. Peter Crouch is more of a physical threat than Heskey!
R A Softlad Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Good luck Emile - you deserve to work with a decent manager.
Guest Portly Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Good luck Emile - you deserve to work with a decent manager. I wish Heskey well because he is a very nice guy - probably too nice to be a Premiership forward. He's played for three managers that I know of - Martin O'Neill, Gérard Houllier and Steve Bruce. None of them has managed to get him to use his strength. If Paul Jewell can do it, I take my hat off to him.
Raj Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 To be fair, that's not three managers. Its two managers and fat headed clown. Good luck to him. Overpriced at £5.5 million, but I still think he can perform to a reasonable level in the Premiership.

Peter Crouch is more of a physical threat than Heskey! the problem with Emile is that he doesn't do it consistently - when he can be arssed he's a defender's nightmare why he can only be arsed on some occasions is his manager's problem. Good luck to Jewell to see if he can get that consistency out of him, i seriously doubt it though.
Greenoak Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Brum buy him for an initial fee of £3.5m, which could rise to £6.25m. Well we know we lost 1.5 mill as they got relegated. Sell him for 5.5. They may just have made a profit on him.!!!! I wonder if there is anything due to us on the sale?
