Rich Gobey Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 'kin ell, it's gonna be like Feltham Young Offenders Institute at Melwood soon!
RafaShanks Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Would be a great addition. Not at this great club. c*** of a man!!!
David Hodgson Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I'm just fascinated to see how long this thread lasts.
Guest Red Mist Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 No way! I don't want anyone with his track record at Anfield. Or anyone with a murderous brother.
Stevie H Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I'm just fascinated to see how long this thread lasts. about that ^^^ long. i'm amazed red mist is still posting on here.
R A Softlad Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 No way! I don't want anyone with his track record at Anfield. Or anyone with a murderous brother. Cos therefore he shares exactly the same character traits...
zimmie4444 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Asides from anything else, where exactly would he fit in, with us already having Sissoko, Alonso, and Gerrard of course. Money would be better spent in other areas.

floyd Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Do we still deal with that agent of his, Willie McKay??
zimmie4444 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 With us needing four quality central midfielders to rotate and cover. He's just signed a new contract, City'll want the best part of £10m. Is it really worth spending that much on a player just as a squad player? He's not better than anyone we already have, and we don't have that kind of cash to spend on squad players. It would be an irrational signing. He's a good player, but in essence he's a poor man's Gerrard, and why would we need one of those when we have the real thing?
Guest Red Mist Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Cos therefore he shares exactly the same character traits... Well Barton is no angel himself, but obviously he's not quite as nasty as his brother. It's just that I'd rather we not sign an average player who will be on big wages (if his demands at City are anything to go by) and who also has a racist, murdering brother.Does anyone REALLY want to sign a player with such an association?

I didn't think he signed the contract and the great internet has City looking for £3m for him....
Guest Stephen King Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Did Jan Molby go to jail or did he get off? I know it's not the same as having a murderous brother, but hey we all love Jan.
Lark Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 brother in law actually.... dont see why joey should be tainted by what a inlaw does. Nor should he be tainted 4 slapping a mouthy blue nose. personally i'd like us to have barton in the squad...he's a decent player and stevie g's mate.
Guest Red Mist Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I'm pretty sure it was his brother. Why buy someone with such baggage anyway. We can do much better.
Lark Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 (edited) joey and michael were not brought up together. hence my thought they were in laws either way the point remains why should joey be tainted by what a family member has done. Edited July 6, 2006 by Lark
SkippyjonJones Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 guilty by association. we're all screwed then as we use the same forum as red mist.
anny road Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Barton was offered 28k per week by city, he refused it....boror came in with an offer the day aftertoo late for any deal to be done, and was obv being used as a stalking horse by Barton and his agent to get more wad off city as it stands no one hs asked about him City have told him there is no new deal on the table now and there wont be in the future
stressederic Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 guilty by association. we're all screwed then as we use the same forum as red mist. I can scarcely look at myself in the miror

I don't think we should sign Barton but we do need a fourth centre mid. He's not a poor man's Gerrard either. He's a holding player.
