Guest RedDwarf Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Cannavaro for me. The rest don't come klose (see what I did there)
Cooldude Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Carvalho and Gallas should be there, don't know why the hell Henry is though.
R A Softlad Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 No Lampard ?? I know, shocking isn't it? I'd go for Pirlo or Zidane.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Pirlo for me. Maniche is average. Carvalho should have been the ceremonial portugese player, or maybe Ronaldo.
berdoing Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I think that list demonstrates the dearth of good individual performances. Maniche?! Ballack?! Henry?! Vieira?! Even Zambrotta only had one really good game! Klose might have scored lots of goals, but he's hardly been great in the knockout stages either. So that leaves Cannavaro, Zidane, Buffon and Pirlo. A keeper got it last time, so Buffon is out. Zidane might have had a good game against Brazil, but he wasn't up to much in the earlier rounds and against Portugal. That leaves Pirlo and Cannavaro. Which means it must go to Cannavaro.
D.Boon Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 The same Ballack who was nowhere to be seen last night??? He will do well besides Lampard
RP Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 The same Ballack who was nowhere to be seen last night??? I think I know why that could be.
Earl Hafler Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 The same Ballack who was nowhere to be seen last night??? He will do well besides Lampard Every Chelsea game will look like the last mad few seconds of Feed The Goat on Soccer AM. " SSHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT ! "
Maldini Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I think Maniche had a very good tournament, he passed the ball well, worked very hard and was Portugal's main goal threat (and scorer)
Hassony Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Gianluca Zambrotta has been superb, easily the best full back on either side in the world but canavarro should win it for me
stressederic Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 It should be Cannavaro. Somehow I doubt Zidane will win it now.
Hassony Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Why? What have you done for him? he has based his style on my style, although i am more skillful
Leo No.8 Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Between Cannavaro and Pirlo for me after last night's moment of madness from Zidane. Its a close thing actually - Pirlo's delivery from set-pieces last night was brilliant, a constant thorn in the French team's side. The French aren't usually weak from aerial attack with Thuram, Gallas etc, they were made to look that way by Pirlo's quality.
quibs Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Dont know they managed to give it to Zidane... Especially after his red card, yes he did play well in the world cup but for me Cannavaro was immense for Italy through out the World Cup and should have won it..
Leo No.8 Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 To explain this - apparently most of the votes (journalists vote for this one) are placed up to or during half-time in the final...
berdoing Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 To explain this - apparently most of the votes (journalists vote for this one) are placed up to or during half-time in the final... The deadline was 23:59, an hour or so after the final finished.
John am Rhein Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Obviously the sponsors have to have time to prepare. apparently most of the votes (journalists vote for this one) are placed up to or during half-time in the final... Makes sense as that's about when they'll have written their reports before hitting the bottle (again).
berdoing Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 I've just seen something barely believable... football fans voted the most entertaining team in the World Cup as.... Portugal!
Leo No.8 Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I've just seen something barely believable... football fans voted the most entertaining team in the World Cup as.... Portugal! I think there's been some mistake. That should read 'ballet fans voted the most entertaining team in the World Cup as Portugal...' Seriously though, they were awful to watch. I thought Germany and Argentina were the most entertaining sides, and I enjoyed watching both Ghana and The Ivory Coast as well.
Gilps Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I've just seen something barely believable... football fans voted the most entertaining team in the World Cup as.... Portugal! It was a vote by worldwide users of the Fifa website. An international audience feeling very entertained by the team who put England out?
