Herbie von Smalls Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 less than an hour to go and no sign of a thread? has interest in this tournament died off since saturday? team news: Germany - klinsmann drops schweinsteiger and replaces the suspended frings with (the useful-looking) tim borowski and sebastian kehl. frings has been solid and schweinsteiger, while full of energy, seems to overestimate his own ability. good work jurgen Italy - zabagli is replaced by materazzi, who has served his one-match ban.
Benzo-13 Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Kehl is a very good player.. Will sit there and provide a good shield for the back four ala Didi.. Deutschland Uberalles!
stressederic Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 According to Channel 4 News, Darth Ratzinger will be supporting Germany for one half of this game and then Italy for the next. Fully expect God to intervene when it goes to extra time.
nitski Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Jurgen says he will not forsake his attacking mentality. The Italians say that they will not forsake their cynical catenaccio and will foul the Germans. A lot. And Totti will be rubbish as usual. And Cannavaro will be man of the match. 1-0 to the Azzurri. Gatusso with a deflected hip bungle from a set-piece.
surf Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 I find myself supporting the Germans, i must be going mad. Someone slap me & have me locked up.
Toe Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 (edited) The football so far, is light years ahead of what England achieved. Italy doing really well. Edited July 4, 2006 by Toe
Spike Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Germany for me. They have been a pleasure to watch this tournament.
McBain Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Italy have been outstanding so far Pirlo continuing his man of the tournament performances
nitski Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Cannavaro is something else The football so far, is light years ahead of what England achieved. Italy doing really well. Technically it is very good. Enjoyable to watch. Even Totti is having a half decent game.
Walrus Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 HT 0-0. Italy by far the better team in the 1st half IMO.
DonRafa Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 (edited) Cannavaro is something else Was just gonna mention him - absolutely fecin brilliant he is Oh, and a big hand to the Mexican ref - really letting the game flow - Edited July 4, 2006 by DonRafa
nitski Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 The Gemermans need to watch it at the back. Zambrotta and Grosso are getting the better of their full backs. Totti actually looks like he may actually make an assist.
Guest RedLegend Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 HT 0-0. Italy by far the better team in the 1st half IMO. Not much in it really. Italy had a good spell in the middle third of the half but the Germans probably had the best chance.
nitski Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Was just gonna mention him - absolutely fecin brilliant he is Oh, and a big hand to the Mexican ref - really letting the game flow - Ref has been impressive. So far Not much in it really. Italy had a good spell in the middle third of the half but the Germans probably had the best chance. Gemermans have had the best chance but Italy are bossing it. Italy's midfield and defence are on top.
berdoing Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 I think Tyldesley and Pleat are going to explode in appreciation of what they think they are seeing.
Walrus Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 how good is canavarro?Twelvety. Italy will win it on penalties
