Driving home yesterday, listening to Radio 5, and news of Dylan Thomas's victory in the Irish National is mentioned.

 

She turns to me and says 'I see you didn't back that one then. It survived"

 

 

Conversation with the wife first thing this morning.

 

(Bear in mind that they've just introduced a point deduction system for driving licences over here in Spain)

 

Me: (being sarcastic, as one does, at 07.30 in the car when the wife drives)

 

"You'll have to be careful and make sure that you don't lose all your points before we go on holiday as I don't fancy hiring a chauffeur!"

 

"Then I should hire a new husband as you lost all your points in this marriage years ago!"

 

Cue stunned silence on my part...
