All it looked like to me was a bog standard 50/50 challenge for the ball which neither player won. Didnt look like a cynical foul or anything to me. But thats not really the problem since those sorts of decisions can either go for or against you and happens in every single game of football. To clutch your face afterwards to try and get the player sent off or whatever is completely un-necessary.

Exactly, put him on the spot. He's saying he didn't cheat - it was a foul. We're not disputing the fact it was a foul, we're disputing whether contact was made to his face; if not, why clutch it? An odd arrangement of the nervous system in his body where he feels impact on the chest in the face?

To be fair, Rivaldo suffers from this too...

that incident last night vindicated what i've thought about henry for a long time. he's all too willing to play the humble, sporting, footballer of integrity role, but when it comes down to it he's no less of a c*** than robben, when it comes to seeking an advantage in a match.

if the post-european cup histrionics weren't the icing on the cake, this certainly is.

:applause: Perfectly put. Best player in the world me @rse.....feckers diving around to get decisions in their favour is disgusting but behaviour like this is far worse in my opinion. Never liked the cheating cvunt before this and yesterdays match only served to re-inforce the fact he will just be regarded as a very, very, very good player and no more.

I for one do not entirely condemn Henry for what he did. Now normally I'd want a player who did such a thing shot (a bounty is still out on Rivaldo's head) but considering Spain TWICE pulled the same trick (Ramos and Torres), AND considering Puyol did exactly the same thing when challenged by Henry in last seasons CL final, I think Henry was within his right to retaliate in kind.

Screw Aragones and Puyol, both b*stards anyway. Viva la France, baby!

Btw, here's a link to Putol's disgraceful attempt to get him sent off. Theirry has had the last laugh!

The dividents that teams are reaping from these ludicrous over reactions by players will obviously perpetuate the problem in various leagues next season!

How was it a 'terrible challenge'? He blocked off his run, nothing else. Same thing happens a few times every match only its usually when the ball is going to run out of play... should those all be freekicks too?

He was too worried about Henry and not the ball and therefore made every effort to block him. He didn't need to do that as he was closest to the ball. I think he was leary of Henry's pace and was hell bent on blocking him instead of getting to the ball himself.
