D.Boon Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I thought this guy was outstanding last night and along with Alonso did not deserve to be on the losing team. Ive never quite been convinced by the hype before but he is really starting to look the part. Always moving, great control, intelligent passer, gets in dangerous positions and does not go missing in the big games. Best young midfielder i have seen this season and i believe he is going to become one of the best in the world. As an aside i thought France were too canny for Spains young players last night but they have a very promising young squad
Rimbeux Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Interesting, I thought the occassion got to him, and he got over-run as the game went on, lost his composure and touch. I think he'll be a great player, but he was short yesterday
Benitez Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 (edited) Don't think he played that well last night to be honest! Think Spain would have been better off without him and Raul in the starting 11. But he is an excellent young player. Edited June 28, 2006 by Benitez
Raj Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I think Fabregas is a talented player, but not as good as the press would have us believe, at this point Has the potential to be an outstanding player, given time, but does make some basic errors in games. With experience he should be able to iron these out.
D.Boon Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 Fabregas and Alonso were Spain's best players imo. By a long way
Armin_Tamzarian Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I hoped they'd give Iniesta a go. I think he has the ability to drive the team forward, carrying the ball into areas which would've really hurt the French. I'm not knocking Cesc as he's clearly a great talent, didn't really make it happen last night though.
JGL Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Watching Xabi in the first half yesterday just made me smile. Sometimes it's hard to believe how good he is. By far the best passer of the ball in the premiership, and probably in the world. He would easily walk right into any starting XI in any team. And to think that we have one or two other central midfielders that also are pretty decent.. Fabregas is quite good, but nothing special, yet.
aka Dus Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Why doesn't he have "Fabregas" on the back of his shirt? What is at about foreigners and them mixing up their Christian names with their surnames? IMO he was out of his depth llast night.
D.Boon Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 Surprised so many thought he was poor. I thought he kept them ticking over and was always wanting the ball. Considering he was up against Viera and Makelele i thought it was a great performance. Let down by the big name strikers in front.
Figaro Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Last night's second half was perfect for Iniesta. The Spanish Alf Garnett cocked up well and truly.
Bootle Buck Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 He's a great talent, but Arragones should not have bowed down to pressure to play Raul and Fabregas and left the team as it was in their first game. FFS they were superb against Ukraine yet he managed to tinker and change the team.
Guest Jack Bauer Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Didn't think he was that good. Didn't he lose the ball for the 2nd goal before Henry dived? Bit of inexperience.
muleskinner Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Makalele and Viera got the run of Fabregas and Xavi, then Senna in the 2nd half. Alonso was struggling because of it. Garcia looked Spain's most threatening player when he came on.
Guest Sabre Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Why doesn't he have "Fabregas" on the back of his shirt? The d****ead commentator said he had his nickname on his shirt. No, mate, Cesc is his first name.
Barnes' left foot Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I think he's a cheating niggly little c*** Agree with that.
Benitez Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 The d****ead commentator said he had his nickname on his shirt. No, mate, Cesc is his first name. his first name is Francesc, so I guess Cesc is sort of a nickname!
