Guest Jack Bauer Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 England this, England that, I support [team England are playing here], I hate Beckham, I hate everyone else. You're all bitters. Fact.
Nebraska Red Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Jack Bauer, the voice of bitterness and hatred for all things England.
Jonesy Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Murphman and friend getting behind our lads, jellied eels not pictured, gawd blimey! thats a rather surreal edpisode of Dr.Who. Billie Piper has let herself go an all........
Ostrich Man Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 England this, England that, I support [team England are playing here], I hate Beckham, I hate everyone else. You're all bitters. Fact.all footy fans have a touch of the bitterness about them.....its just some of us know this.
D.Boon Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 But it is so cooooooooool to be anti English. If one day in the next10-20 years the Welsh, Irish or Scots actually qualify for a tournament we can get our own back.
Coyler Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 But it is so cooooooooool to be anti English. If one day in the next10-20 years the Welsh, Irish or Scots actually qualify for a tournament we can get our own back.By supporting them, like you did the last time the FAI lads qualified?
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 England this, England that, I support [team England are playing here], I hate Beckham, I hate everyone else. You're all bitters. Fact.so you actually like Beckham, Lampard, Gary Neville...
Ostrich Man Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Not really, but I don't go on about it every day of the week.some liverpool fans do....but theyre not "bitters" eh. recognise in yourself what you so readily seek in others. or something. Last time yes, next time, if there is one not a chance. sound.
owenthomas Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 But it is so cooooooooool to be anti English.strange - it's not the first time i've seen a comment like that.. why do people think that some of us are anti-English to try and be in some sort of clique or act cool and not because they have a genuine grievance with some players or the cronies who run the show?
Des Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 strange - it's not the first time i've seen a comment like that.. why do people think that some of us are anti-English to try and be in some sort of clique or act cool and not because they have a genuine grievance with some players or the cronies who run the show? Or because some of us aren't actually English.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I just find International footy odd. How can you cheer for a player for a month where normally you hate 11 months a year?
jimmylibel Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Or because some of us aren't actually English. And have very sound historical reasons for said feelings.
Des Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 (edited) I just find International footy odd. How can you cheer for a player for a month where normally you hate 11 months a year? This is true though. I had no love for Roy Keane at any time. Whether he was in a red or a green shirt, he was always a c*nt. Edited June 28, 2006 by Des
Cobs Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I just find International footy odd. How can you cheer for a player for a month where normally you hate 11 months a year?because the player isn't playing for the club that you hate, he's playing for the country that you support - not rocket surgery this. in the same way when a player that you loathe, like say Craig Bellamy for instance, signs for the team that you support, you suddenly stop loathing him.
Des Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 because the player isn't playing for the club that you hate, he's playing for the country that you support - not rocket surgery this. But you stick up for Lampard even as a Chelsea player.
Cobs Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 But you stick up for Lampard even as a Chelsea player.i don't hate him, sorry about that.
John am Rhein Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 But you stick up for Lampard even as a Chelsea player. Point being...?
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Maybe I'm fickle, but I can't get over that hurdle. As I'm not English, they're not a great example, but with Ireland, as Des says - Roy Keane is a c*** & was a c***. I NEVER want(ed) to see him happy & therefore couldn't back a team with him in it
Des Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Point being...? They're not the Mancs but they are still our rivals. I don't like them and never have, even pre-Abramovich. Their fans are tossers.
Cobs Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 They're not the Mancs but they are still our rivals. I don't like them and never have, even pre-Abramovich. Their fans are tossers.i don't like Chelsea either but i'm not going to call a player crap when i don't think he is, just cos he plays for a team i don't want to beat Liverpool. Maybe I'm fickle, but I can't get over that hurdle. As I'm not English, they're not a great example, but with Ireland, as Des says - Roy Keane is a c*** & was a c***. I NEVER want(ed) to see him happy & therefore couldn't back a team with him in itand if he'd signed for Liverpool ?

Surely we all admire Chelsea's achievements of recent seasons and were all so disappointed when they were cheated out of the European Cup by Barcelona, no?

Ostrich Man Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 ive no problem with it....once they stick on the green theyre fine by me...i like Finnan (not in the way he'd want obviously)
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 and if he'd signed for Liverpool ?Then you'd see a spectacular about-turn & some great revisionism on my part. Hence the "I'm fickle" bit. That said, never liked Ince
jimmylibel Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 ive no problem with it....once they stick on the green theyre fine by me...i like Finnan (not in the way he'd want obviously) Same goes for John O'Shea with me... in all the ways you've mentioned
