Ste M Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 (edited) People talk about Rooney being electrifying and terrifying, but Messi is every bit as good as him, honestly and truthfully. Edited June 24, 2006 by Ste M
Keita Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 Liverpool related? sorry thought i saw Carlsberg on his shirt
Ombudsam Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 He's unbelievable. That was awesome from him when he came on
Falconhoof Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Zinha (however you spell it) for Mexico looked special when he came on. Another young star in the making. Messi is something else though.
Guest Sabre Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 He is a great player but he was up against some absolutely knackered defenders.
Falconhoof Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 He is a great player but he was up against some absolutely knackered defenders. Very true. They were going at some pace until 60 odd minutes and then tiredeness began to show on both sides. I was thinking there'd be a c**k-up from a tired defender that led to a late goal. Heinze's non sending off was the key point of the match in the end. Mexico deserved it.
Guest Sabre Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 It was an obvious red card and I feel for Mexico - that will hurt for a while.
Guest telboy Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 People talk about Rooney being electrifying and terrifying, but Messi is every bit as good as him, honestly and truthfully. Rooney will never be half the player Messi is, or Tevez for that matter.
realtarragona Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Rooney will never be half the player Messi is, or Tevez for that matter. Rooney is better than Tevez.
Guest Sabre Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Rooney will never be half the player Messi is, or Tevez for that matter. Don't be silly. Rooney is easily as good as Messi and way beyond Tevez right now. Tevez is a good player but Rooney is superb.
Falconhoof Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Tevez just shades Rooney for skill and strength but its a good comparison. Tevez looks like a neanderthal. Look in any book about prehistoric man and you'll see a picture of Tevez fashioning a ball out of a mammoth bladder.Great player.
DonRafa Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 He is a great player but he was up against some absolutely knackered defenders. True, but he's like that in La Liga.I love him, one of my favourite players. Apart from his fantastic skill I particularly like that he does'nt dive with every challenge. He tries to stay on his feet even in the penalty area. How refreshing!

I hate to diasgree, but no.You look at Messi playing, he runs at speed with the ball glued to the outside of his left foot. He can control the ball closely while still beating 3 men.Rooney attributes are more like Tevez, but I feel Tevez is far better, he has more skill. Very similar though in both players games are based on direct run to goal.

George Costanza Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 (edited) I reckon Messi could go ont o be as good as if not better than Ronaldinho. Messi's the best dribbler of a football since Maradona IMO Rooney's far better than Tevez but who gives a s*** about that granny shagger. Edited June 24, 2006 by coltmanaman
Guest Sabre Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 (edited) I'm no Rooney-lover but I think you're a little over-enamoured with those players because they're Argentinian. Edited June 24, 2006 by Sabre

Guest Sabre Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 We've only your word for that, grandma I'm way too young for him Does Tevez look like baros or what Yes, Baros but with the neck of a rhino.
zimmie4444 Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Zinha (however you spell it) for Mexico looked special when he came on. Another young star in the making. 31 Years old this year!
Guest snez1 Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Tevez is Rooney with more technique. They are boths o powerful but you don't see Rooney megging people and doing flicks like Tevez does. If Tevez had been playing in England for the last 2 years we'd all be saying he was beter than Rooney. Rooney's just been built up by the exposure and while hes an amazing player i think he;'s a tad over rated.
