Spike Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Not one of the new order but a lifelong matchgoing one. He was really worried about this coming season simply because he doesn't think that Mourinho can man manage or accomodate the players that it seems Abramovich has signed. We were talking about Essien in the WC and he admitted that he's better than Lampard but that sadly how he's being groomed to replace Makelele so we won't see that side of his game - especially now that Ballack has signed. That led to another concern about Lampard. He was also saying, in all sincerity how given Joe Cole and Robben's WC form you can keep both happy. He said that it won't be long before 'there's a mutiny' amongst players and particularly fans as they all feel that certain individuals are better and more worthy than others. This lad doesn't have any 'in' with the club but it made me think how whilst we have the potential to grow despite lacking funds. Chelsea have an equal opportunity to self destruct - particularly if rumour is to believed that Roman is the one who is making the big signings after Chelseas failure to win the CL. He asked me how I felt about signing someone like Bellamy and it almost made me happy that we had somebody that would give something different than we had last season. We have no worries about the glory fellas at Chelsea when what they seek galactico's whereby we have kulaktico's
live Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 chelsea for all their recent success are still at least 20 years behind liverpool in terms of trophies. They should not even be whispered in the same breath as LFC. A lot of lfc supporters seem to forget just how successful "our" club is. I am more worried about manu. Chelsea can "pick the peanuts out of my s***".

Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 they will still be the team to beat next seasonjust as we will be. The difference btw the 2 last season was the league games. That's all
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 We will push them very close but if you take away the 2 games they lost after wrapping up the title the gap would have been 15 points. The Mancs and Arsenal will also be right up there with us. Should be the most open title race for years.you can't suppose they lost them because they had won the league though. Maybe they've been sussed
Scally Bob Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 (edited) Yeps, some of the long-time Chav fans are pretty decent compared to the new born-again Chav converts. QUOTE(Dazzla @ Jun 23 2006, 22:59) I was expecting a stabbing These two comments are somehow related I think. For those who may not have experienced the pleasures of Stamford Bridge in the seventies and eighties it was horrendous. The smugness of the idiots following them now is far more bearable than stewards throwing concrete at us or the gut-churning danger of Fulham Broadway after the Cup game in 1982. Rimbeux Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 I think their major issue will be midfield, and how that impacts the wingers. Ballack is used to running the game, no matter what side he's played in, everything goes through him. He's good enough to allow Lampard to play his game, but i don't think he's humble enough. I'm imagining there will be some attempt to play the diamond, and fir in all the central midfield players, giving Shevchenko Drogba to play off, but then what happens to the four wide players. Carry on with the usual system, and you have to wonder how the new striker copes with being used as an out ball, and decoy for Lampards runs. There is a simple soultion, pick up the phone to Barca
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Watching Ballack today, he likes a shot as much as Lampard. It's gonna be a long season for Sheva - watching balls balsted from 40 yeards whizzing around his ears

Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 he 'wants to stay' so he gets his 10% when sold
