Reina may be needed further on in the competition and this match would have been ideal to give him some experience at this level. It's got nothing to do with the fact he is a Liverpool player.

Surely Canizares is second choice keeper? Ther's sod all point a man of his age and experience going to a world cup as third choice keeper. If Reina was second choice, the third keeper would've been Valdes or anothe young(ish) keeper along for the ride?
