Knox_Harrington Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 I know you are not a fan of torres but he surely deserve to be there ahead of diving c***Was thinking as much about getting a side that could play together rather than, for example, picking four attacking midfielders and the top two scorers. Torres has worked hard but hasn't made me think, "f***, he's good." One penalty, one blinder and one well taken goalkeeper error. He has done well but not ridiculously so.

He has done well but not ridiculously so. to be fair, he has done as well (at least) as Drogba imo My team would be 4-3-1-2 .......Cech Ramos..Ayala...Cannavaro....Lahm ......Alonso..maschareno...Essien .................Riquelme ...........Klose.........Torres
Stevie H Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 that mascherano lad looks a real player. sincerely hope that the mancs don't get him.
anny road Posted June 23, 2006 Author Posted June 23, 2006 Surely Rosicky deserves to be on there one good game? Ronaldo and Joe COle should be in to then

Owen1978 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 He was shyte against Ghana and non existant against Italy. Loved the way the pundits were w*nking over him saying wengers found another one, where is he know?
nvdm Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Cech Srna (though this might be the weakest position in this year's tourney)AyalaMertesackerAbidal MascheranoKakaAppiahRiquelme SaviolaKlose
Figaro Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Any best team would have to include: Cech or Buffon at the back Ayala and Terry or Ayala and Puyol wing halves Ramos and Lahm In the middle I'd go for: Riquelme Gerrard Mascherano Kaka Torres Klose
yellow jumper Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 re: right backs. hard to put him in after one, pretty easy game, but i thought cicinho was good last night. miguel might become a candidate if portugal progress, although he struggled a little against mexico. cherundolo was magnificent against italy, but s*** against everybody else. would like to include loko of angola just for his haircut.
Knox_Harrington Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 And it all goes to show that Steve Finnan is one of the very best right backs in the world.
_00_deathscar Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Would be Zanetti if that c*nt didn't leave him out of the squad.
aka Dus Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Mascherano is the one player you don't want the Mancs to sign. Class act. Gives the rest the space to play as they like. One of the players of the tournament so far IMO.

One of the players of the tournament so far IMO. definitely. looks real quality. portugal's miguel has been the best right-back in the tournament so far by the way.
Guest Sabre Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Terry The back three you probably could have put in before the tournament even started - all have been their usual consistent selves. You're wrong there. Terry has been below his normal standard. I'd have Carvalho instead
beejay Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 The worst team from the quarter finalists (so far) is more fun : ----------------------------Robinson---------------------- Friedrich---------Terry--------Rusol------------Valente Beckham------Emerson-------Rossi---------Lampard -------------Gilardino------------Adriano-------------- Subs : Ricardo, Heinze, Mertsacker, Sorin, Henry
Earl Hafler Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 It's the World Cup and threads like this that are killing the main footy forum. Nobody posting " Your fav LFC XI of players with an F in their name " and " Following on from your fav LFC XI of players with an F in their name, what about the letter T ? "

Maybe Sagnol or Miguel in for Srna. EDIT: And had Luca Toni scored a couple he'd be in for Drogba by now. Still no outstanding candidate next to Klose though. Edited June 29, 2006 by Knox_Harrington
