My first choice was Hiddink as well, but Scolari was best out of the other candidates - the FA should of f@cking waited than if that was the only issue

 

I was also in favour of Hiddink, and they screwed that one up too by wanting to interview him to see if he was worthy of going on a shortlist.

Really is absurd. Could the English FA be any more incompetent? Expecting a manager of one of our rivals to publically agree to join us a matter of weeks before he is due to manage one of our rivals in the tournament.

 

What possible difference could it have made to wait a couple of months?

 

it was almost like an act of arrogant bravado to announce that the manager would be in place before the world cup. what possible benefit could that have had for players and coaches knowing that their places/jobs were under even further pressure? the only logic i can see in the decision was to show how the f.a. had got their act together and had gained some new-found competence... except it all backfired

Aye, they had a chance to appoint a genuinely good manager, who wouldn't have let anything stand in the way of putting the best team on the pitch, and would have stood a good chance of getting into the last four at the majors, and actually winning something, but no... we are decisive, we move at pace, with conviction, we know what we want, and how to get it, we are dynamic, self assured....
