not sure why you pulled garcia out, Rafa already came out and said he's not for sale and an important member of the squad, especially in big games.

Just trying to make out are squad, if all these signings come, as I`ve put a ? just wandering as I have a feeling Kewell could go.

With all the support Rafa has given him and the effort is taken to get him fit, I don't think Rafa will sell him.

Kewell and MG will both fight for the left wing spot.

According to my sources, if Gonzo gets his permit Kewell will be sold to raise funds for Kuyt. If not, Garcia will be sold.

there are plenty that the club will want to get shot of - it's getting clubs to buy em that will be the issue. Cos there are good reasons why we want rid ;)

But all of:

Diao

Cheyrou

Traore

Warnock

Kirkland

Le Tallec

could go IF we could find buyers (or mugs in the case of a couple of them).

And then of course Hamann looks set to leave, as does Cisse.

Plenty could be on their way if we can get rid. Although I full expect us to get stuck with the likes of Diao, Cheyrou and Kirkland for another season. :hmm:

I would be open to selling Garcia should the offer be right (more than what we paid for him). His star is high right now, and it may be the best time to sell.

I think his chances will be limited next season. We'll have specialist right and left wingers, and we'll also have another 2 strikers who will need to play (besides Crouch and Fowler).

Garcia has his uses (great goals in big games, flashes of inspiration) but we all know he frustrates too. If a big enough bid came in, or indeed if he was to be used in some sort of part ex to land the likes of Torres or Villa, then I'd be all for it.

Rafa came out and said he was integral to the LFC plans. he acknowledged Luis's frustratability, but argued that it was the moments of sheer brilliance that made him indispensible.

I'm not convinced. Rafa often came out in support of Moro, and recently backed Pongolle. I thought it was telling that he publicly backed Garcia. There was no public campaign saying he was unsettled, so why go on the record about it ?

I think there's a strong possibility that Rafa will add another right winger to the Alves signing. Assuming Kuyt is also brought in, Garcia begins to look a little lost in the wider picture. For the left Rafa would have Kewell and Gonzalez, as straight forward left wing options. On the right he'll have Alves, and say, Pennant. Garcia is not really a winger in any true sense.

Garcia plays most effectively breaking from midfield, behind a striker. I just don't see him getting a game that often. It might be better to offload him now when his value is at an all time high (£7-8m ?), than let him drift through a season where he figures infrequently and his value tumbles.

Long thought that but those quotes did seem very, very conclusive. You can make an argument that between Garcia, Gonzalez, Zenden and Riise the manager may think he has the left boxed and may shunt Kewell on.

I think one or the other will go.

Rafa's comments (to me) seem to really cement Garcia's futue here at the club.

Kewel is a different matter. Rafa's previous transfer dealings have proven something of a "upper hand play card". He's bought players for a very good price who have a done a good job for us, he can do the same with selling.

To be fair, with Gonzalez comming in (Harry, Zenden also able to play left side in the squad) I can Imagine Rafa keeping Harry and Gonzalez with Risse able to play in case of injury. That leaves Zenden to fill the middle of midfield, with Xabi, Gerrard, Sissoko with the posibility of Didi leaving, Rafa may move Zenden into the midfield backup rotation.

To me it would seem silly to get rid of Garcia and Kewell with both able to play left and or play behind the lone striker if needed.

I think Rafa publically praised Murphy and Owen, and within weeks they were sold. It's not as if he's going to say Garcia's rubbish and that he wants to sell him.

Having said that it would be a shame if Garcia did go. He does that something different we need to score in tight games. But with the signings of Bellamy, Gonzalez and possibly others, Rafa might think we have enough 'possibilities'?

He explicitly states he isnt for sale

I'm with Rafa (suprise, suprise) on this. 'lil Luis has the kind of mercurial brilliance that can turn a game in a flash Such talent is most uncommon, and I for one, want that talent available to our team.

His 'uses' include the goals that got us to two fantastic finals, lest we forget ;)

Garcia is gone if circumstances dictate, simple as. And if we can't get Kuyt we'll go after Viduka, who, imo, will be a lot more value for money.
