to detract from the fact that eriksson doesn't know what he's doing, has no discernible tactics and hasn't taken enough pace in the squad. nor enough forwards to cover for the injured rooney and owen.

 

But it's hardly detracted from that. It's actually highlighted those issues.

i'm going to have a couple of quid on him playing some part in this world cup. pretty long price, i believe. even if it's just out of sheer bloody-mindedness i think sven'll throw him on somewhere along the line.

I think Soft s**** honestly thought he might make an impression in the pre-WC friendlies and therefore he would look like he actually knew what he was doing. He didn't and now he realizes he has a young lad who should be at home doing his A levels and not sitting on the bench at the biggest venue in World Football. Then again you have to blame the ball-less FA for not just firing him 3 months ago when they decided he wouldn't be around after the competition.

not sure about that. i think he basically saw him running very, very fast with the ball when he was at london colney. i think that's it. and i also think he'll throw him on when england are desperate for something to happen, probably during extra time of the quarters/semis.
