Even if they were getting ripped off, it would be worth their while playing for nothing. Playing on the World Cup stage would do the Togo players' career and money-earning prospects no harm at all.

We don't know the details so it'd be rash to condemn anyone for their actions. Some of these lads probably come from really poor places and this could be their only chance to make good money.

 

My understanding of the matter isn't that they're holding the FA to ransom, they just want the money they were promised.
