If a player is constantly getting caught offside, is he not persistently infringing the laws of the game and therefore warrants a yellow card ?

Yes, but only if that player is the Horse- hee-haw! :D

no player deliberately decides to be offside.

Being deliberate or not doesn't make a difference. The laws say Persistently Infringing and not Deliberatly Persistently Infringing.

no. Can't get booked for a foul which results in an indirect FK

Dangerous Play ?

do people get booked for those?

Ofcourse they can.

Indirect free kick

An indirect free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a goalkeeper, inside his own penalty area, commits any of the following five offences:

takes more than six seconds while controlling the ball with his hands before releasing it from his possession

touches the ball again with his hands after it has been released from his possession and has not touched any other player

touches the ball with his hands after it has been deliberately been kicked to him by a team-mate

touches the ball with his hands after he has received it directly from a throw-in taken by a team-mate

An indirect free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if a player, in the opinion of the referee:

plays in a dangerous manner - CAUTIONABLE OFFENCE

impedes the progress of an opponent - CAUTIONABLE OFFENCE

prevents the goalkeeper from releasing the ball from his hands

commits any other offence, not previously mentioned in Law 12, for which play is stopped to caution or dismiss a player

as for the obstruction rule there

am i the only person that thinks when a defender blatantly does it to let the ball roll out in the corner for goal kick its pure obstruction? because if it was in the middle of the park it`d a be a free, so why not down at the corner flag :hmm:

What about players who shield the ball out of play to get a goal-kick? Sometimes it's clearly acceptable but others they're doing it from somewhere near the half-way line (slight exageration but you know what I mean). Surely this is ungentlemanly conduct and should be treated as such? As should bringing on a sub when you're one goal up and hanging on to waste a bit of time.

They've been booking goalkeepers for time wasting, so under these rules shouldn't the opponent recieve an indirect free kick as opposed to the goalie 'getting on with it'.

The keepers have been booked when they are taking a goal kick, ie the ball is dead, so a free-kick to the opposition is impossible.
