didnt realise he was dead.....a good bloke indeed...everytime i seen him he was just slabbering about parochial views in australian sports....was thinking the other day he would be going mental after the Japan game.....but since hes dead, i doubt it.

No idea, but i bet it will be.

 

Ostrich Man - He died about 3 months before we qualified for the WC last November. Pretty sad really, if anyone deserved to see that game he did.

cat one......in my year out there....sunday was SBS day....6 hours of footy...and johnny on slabbering bout Aussies not taking football seriously....and those who called it soccer would get corrected each time.

This program showed what an effort it was for him, a life time of work against the odds. You have to admire that in anyone. Everything he said should and needed to happen (eg. WC qualification, sustainable league based on location (not race) and joining the asian league) is happening right now.

 

PS His comments that Australia had to get away from concentranting on qualifying for the WC and start concentrating on winning showed what a visionary he is. I am not saying we will win it this year but Australia has the potential to become a Football superpower in time.

Havent seen an add for the DVD, only for the show tonight. Being SBS though i suspect it will be available on DVD soon as it should be.
