Excellent; we'll be the only club in the city.

The strange thing is that the Echo seems dead behind this plan, when previously they were sure that a groundshare was the best idea and so have rarely if ever (I'm sure Rushian knows the actual stats) written a pro new ground for LIverpool in the Anfield area story. Instead any articles about it concentrate on lack of funding, missing deadlines etc, which have been occasionally misleading and sometimes plain wrong.

Perhaps now Everton have got their little plan together the Echo might think about some anti 'Joe Kenny and his Anfield resident's committee' stories. I have a number of friends who live or have lived in the Anfield and the only people against the ground are those who fundamentally misunderstand the club's plans. Our commitment to the Anfield area should've been applauded to the heavens by local politicians and by the Echo.

Instead we have had snide news stories and a fundamental lack of support. A friend of mine who was attacked walking across Stanley Park was told by a copper to move out of Anfield because the police have basically lost control of the area. If we had decided to move to the Central Docks area which was feasible and would've attracted similar regeneration funding, the last decent thing in that part of the city would've disappeared.

I grew up round there, on the Robson St estate and while it was never exactly paradise its feckin depressing to walk round there now.
