because he was born in ghana and i think moved to france when he was very young. so he was schooled in france and picked up by a french club as a youth player. plus i think that back then the football facilities would have been pretty poor in ghana.

The story is...

 

Msr. Desailly married a poverty stricken black Ghanain woman and moved her and her family to France where a young Marcel facing extreme racism from French kids learned to deal with it and learned not resent white people as a result, through the guidance of his white father whom he adored. Then a tosser like Big Ron comes out with what he did.
