ricflairandy Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 (edited) Probably a bit late on this, but im told today that viduka is was being looked at as a cheap option for us upfront! Very strange move for me, I mean on his day hes not a bad player, but hes a lazy b*****d who would loose interest after a few games. The only other thing he mentioned was that mark hughes said today that hes very worried about loosing bellamy. No official aproaches from anyone as of yet but he isnt to optomistic they will be able to keep him Oh, and mckay still reckons bent is our no 1 target Edited June 12, 2006 by ricflairandy
Romario Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I mentioned last summer that he'd be good for us. He's a fat b*****d but an excellent player. He'd do what morienties does except he'd score as well and wouldn't get knocked off the ball.

Guest Cardie Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Fat b*****d. 1.5 million wasted if we signed him.
Guest AdamS Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Who is HE-pardon my ignorance?Australian centre forward
David Hodgson Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 For the relative pittance he'd cost Viduka is a reasonable option. Arguably he's good back-up for Crouch, in that he's strong and can hold the ball up well. If it meant we could spend money on better players elsewhere, I wouldn't be gutted to see Viduka and Bellamy replace Cisse and Moro.
McBain Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 We may be skint but surely we can do better even for a pittance
Guest Cardie Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 (edited) For the relative pittance he'd cost 1.5 million plus another 2 or more in wages for a year. What then, no re-sale value so we've wasted 3.5 million pounds on a quick fix, at best he leaves after a year and at worse we can't get rid and have to pay another 2 million next year. Guest 7777 Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Viduka is about as fat as Lampard or Ronaldo If he was fat he wouldn't be playing for Boro or the Aussies Not that I would like us to sign him
Internationinteroperability Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I thought Viduka and Kewell disliked each other? If so, Viduka in = Kewell out? Might be a swap deal For the record I wouldn't want Viduka anywhere near our team. He was good at Leeds, but he's worth Diao now...
Clay Davis Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 convenient you were told today after Viduka played today! anyway, I don't want him.
Guest Sabre Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I think he'd be good. He gets the piss ripped out of him but he would rise to the challenge of playing in such a good team - incredibly skilful and a good finisher.
Guest Cally77 Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 (edited) He's not even fat for start, he's just a big strong lad. An absolute bargain for 1.5 mill. He's Intelligent, skillful, brings others into play and capable of coming up with something out of nothing. Why people turn their noses up at good experienced players like this is beyond me. George Costanza Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 He'd be worth it on a free. including wages & pie tokens
Maldini Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 On his day he's a brilliant player, pity his day is once in a blue moon though.
Guest AdamS Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Well in my experience the fat ones always try harder.
Bootle Buck Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 We have the best overweight(slightly) striker in the World in Robbie Fowler. Having a fatter and much worse version of him would seem a waste.
cestrianred Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Australian centre forward adam mate, that humour from Wrexham.......sharp
George Costanza Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Well in my experience the fat ones always try harder.
Spike Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 would rather have kept el moro myself than bring Viduka in. Both not to disimilar in their goal returns
Guest spk Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 remembering he is playing for a successful middlesborough team that got to the finals of the eufa cup some stats ... ... Total Appearances 26 ... Starts 18 ... Substituted 9 ... Total Minutes Played 1582 ... Avg Minutes Played Per Start 87.89 ... Goals 7 ... Avg Mins Played/Goal Scored 226 ... Goals Scored As Sub 0 cisse, who most of you insist is not good enough, manages to score a goal every 191 minutes ... fowler and bellamy bag one about every 155 minutes. this is the twilight of viduka's career imo, and with heavy wages and no real sell on fee i think the money could be better spent elsewhere.
