Probably just some irate mongrels who realised it was Gary Neville playing and not their beloved "Pip" Neville.

Cousin said there was ale flying everywhere, at the bizzies, the screen, other people, said he see a little scrap kick off so he f***ed off somewhere else

I went out to Manchester to watch the games on the big screen in the comedy store.

After the England match finished we went into town to get a bus to Rusholme for a curry.

There were loads of pissed up skinheads, tops off, gurning the usual 'in-ger-lund' and generally being thuggish and aggressive

Other people were driving by in cars beeping their horns incesently.

I said to my mate, for f***s sake we've only beaten Paraguay 1-0 with an own goal.

Will be watching the other games from my own home from now on. If this is what the nobheads get like at this stage it'll get nasty when england get knocked out. Which they will be.

Not really a lot to do with football though, is it? Every police force in the world dreads long hot spell of sunny weather as they know the problems it brings. There's a well-documented psychological theory that shows an undeniable co-relation between a crime-wave curve rising in proportion with a rising temperature graph. Clayton Square saw a sorry combination of two unfortunate factors at work at the same time. I'll bet anything that if the temperature had been ten degrees lower, nothing would have happened.
