Maldini Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Thought it would be a good idea to have one post where everyone can compare and keep track of their bets. I don't really bet that much, but I thought I'd stick a few quid on a load of games this time around to make things more interesting. Todays bets, done at about 1.30 England to beat Paraguay ?10 @ 1.67 - won 6.70Sweden to beat T&T ?20 @ 1.24 - lost ?20Argentina to beat Ivory Coast - ?10 @ 1.78 - not played yet I kinda covered myself in the Sweden game though, around the 70 minute mark I put: ?10 on the draw @ 2.9: won ?19 and ?6 on a 1-0 Swedish victory @2.7: lost ?6 so it meant if Sweden won I'd win around the same and if it was a draw I'd lose about ?7. So my running total at the moment is: lost ?1 I've also put ?10 each on Ronaldo and David Villa to be top goalscorer at odds of 10.5 and 55 respectively
Guest snez1 Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Had 3 f***ing accas f***ed up by Sweden. Germany, England and Brazil all in there. b*****d.
el_berto Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 (edited) I have Argentina (to win the cup) @ 12/1 and Henry top goalscorer @ 20/1 And Argentina are 2-0 up Edited June 10, 2006 by el_berto
Maldini Posted June 10, 2006 Author Posted June 10, 2006 Just put ?4 on there being a sending off in this, I can see it kicking off in the second half.

Koller49 Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Had a little accumulator England, Sweden, Aregentina... Sweden f***ed it up. Cant believe they drew with Trinidad.. thats just shocking.
Tones Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Had a fiver on Crespo to score first and Argies to win 2 0 @ 20/1 thanks very much Mr Dogbreath
Redwire Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Maldini said: ?3 euro up on ?56 of bets today. I'm a bit like that. Drogba next goal scorer at 12-1 rescued an otherwise very poor two days and put me about a fiver ahead. Still fuming at the 33-1 Ayala first goalscorer denied by the officials.

I reckon I'll sniff around the daily matches rather than outright betting (although I've the Argies in my work sweep, so I'm cheering for them at the moment).

I can recall trying to place a similar bet in a previous tournament (think it was France to win, Henry to be top scorer) and the bookies wouldnt asllow it as it was a `related` bet. In other words the chances of the player being top scorer is much greater when he's playing for the team that wins the tournament. Am I right about this ?
Tones Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Never had a problem when doing one like that. Got Adriano and Brazil myself.
Dublinred4ever Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Thats good news. Why Adriano rather than Ronaldo?

D.Boon Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 You can place the bet but it is not a true double as they both influence each others success so the bookies drop the odds accordingly Just got on Van Nistellroy and Torres for tourny top scorers each way
Ronnie Whelan Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 A 7.50 treble on Holland, Portugal and Mexico returns ?30.00
Gunga Din Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 gonna have a look at the red and ellow card odds on tonights game between Angola and Portugal. i reckon this one could be a right kicking match
Maldini Posted June 11, 2006 Author Posted June 11, 2006 Today's bets: ?4 on Serbia @ 4.6?10 on Portugal @ 1.37?10 on draw in Serbia - Holland game @ 3.25Layed ?10 @ 1.77 on Mexico I've been thinking of laying a tenner on there being a red card in every game, I'm thinking you'd have to come out on top throughout the whole tournament.
realtarragona Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Bet £20 on England which I won but then lost that and the winnings on Sweden... First up to day £20 on Holland. Pointless doing trebles.
RBM Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 I had holland 2-0 with van nistlehorse as first scorer - lost alreadyHolland halftime / fulltime Mexico - Iran 1-1 And portugal to beat angola 3-0
Maldini Posted June 11, 2006 Author Posted June 11, 2006 Lost ?14 on the Serbia game, down ?11 overall. Hopefully I can get that back over the next couple of games, could be down ?30 by the end of the day though Maldini said: Lost ?14 on the Serbia game, down ?11 overall. Dominus Maximus Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 have a tenner on Portugal, Mexico and Holland, would give me 32 pund if Portugal win. Which they should.
