For me it would be a choice of music from the nations playing on loop as the game was played mixed with the fans cheering. You could switch over to either country depending on who you supported. Watching Brazil to samba music while listening to their fans would make it all the more fun.

Also I'd love to be able to switch to the local commentry of a particular team just to enjoy the excitement even if i havn't a clue what they are saying.

Also on line should be a bar man from each country explaining local drinking culture/traditions of each country so you can get pissed on drinks you've never heard of while watching different matches.

Over to you.....

Call me crazy, but hiring insightful hosts, commentators and pundits would be a great start.

With you on that one :D

Aside from that, to be able to broadcast it to the bloody wide public and not just one company that holds the rights to all the World Cup games (in Hong Kong), that I don't want to subscribe to.

get rid of these horrid hosts in Canada (except for Dick Howard)... the other 3 are absolutely clueless.. completely inept

when studio pundits make incorrect predictions they should have to undertake it's a knockout style forfeits. make ally mccoist walk the plank blindfold into a vat of swarfega style of thing.

a simle matter of some decent commentators and punditry that actually annalised the game, instead of trying to be funny and witty. i havent got digital tv in the living room, just an old chipped NTL box, so i cant even put teh radio commentary on, although i may look into bringing the radio in today, turning the sound down on teh telly and listening to the radio.

i'd rather they had two fit birds who know feck all about football doing the halftime bit at least that way you'd get a laugh. rather than the numpties they have at the minute. particularly ITV, where Gaby Logan, who isnt even that fit, knows f*** all about football

Aside from the dicks on the sofas, they should hire Spanish directors; the camera angles, slow-mo reactions, the sense of drama and occassion are way ahead of everyone else.

That sounds painful, and the imagery is terrible....

that's spot on that wayne. i wish they would just concentrate on presenting the football. it's professional sport, it's not supposed to be a f***ing comedy slot for an ex-player.

best presenter on tv is still james richardson. have to wonder why neither of the terrestrial channels nor sky has offered him a job for this world cup.

Because, and you have to remember this, he isn't a "personality". He's just an intelligent, cool, relaxed journalist able to get the best out of those around him.

I can't believe how bad some of these have become. Almost like music hall.

Fantastic isn't he, RTE's coverage, when they have Giles, Dunphy and Brady on is brilliant too. Even they are going down the road of sh*t pundits though. Ray Houghton obviously got media training from Charlie Nicholas.

I'm so fed up with punditry, I never watch it at all now, just turn on as the game is about to kick off. I hope Setanta take things from a different angle when they take over, the guy in charge of football there was a lecturer of mine in college and knows his sh*t so hopefully they might actually discuss the game.

It would be lovely, really, if the c**** here in the Philippines actually showed the games LIVE, or on the same day at least...instead of the 3 days later delayed telecast we've got. Just a thought.

Oh, and these are the same c**** who are charging Php5000 for the PPV, and it's only for semis to finals!!

is it me, or are the cameras too far away from the pitch?

today's game was hard to follow , even in HD, as there seemed to be very few close ups.

mute the crowd noise when England play, PLEASE.

I had the R5Live commentary on over the BBC pictures - what a fantastic change from those gobshoits Motson and Lawrenson.

I notice they've got a kid's commentary running as well - anyone listen to that?

I listened to it for about 5 minutes after getting pissed off with M&L, he made much more sense than them and actually criticised some players. I listened to 5Live mostly though. I think ITV have half decent pundits this year.

Motson is now making Jonathan Pearce sound like God.

I started watching that game (England v Paraguay) without any of the nerves I would normally expect for an LFC game. Within ten minutes I'm ranting at Motson's inane, witless, clueless befuddlement. I turned the sound down - it was too much.
