Shame to see him leave, absolute star! wow.... a bit out of the blue One of my favourite players, absolute legend and instrumental in our success over the years.... best of luck in his future, though he deserves better than that alehouse side.
madskilz Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 That's a big disappointment, i was hoping he'd still be here for another season - he still has lots to offer.
LFCJari37 Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 What a shame, id hoped he'd end his playing days in a red shirt. He's been immense for us, hope all goes well there.
Diarmuid Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Gutted to see him go, he's been absolutely brilliant for us.
Guest Kaizer Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Something I have seen coming for a long time, Hamann would never be satisfied with the amount of playing time he got last season. Wonder who the replacement will be, I have a few names in mind that would do a good job and dont expect to be playing week in and week out for us at the moment.
Guest Sabre Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 (edited) Good luck to him. I think he's a bit of a legend to be honest. Played such a huge part in us winning cup after cup. May I also add, I've sort of had an inkling he would leave for a while now. We've been linked with a fair few central midfielders recently. Edited June 8, 2006 by Sabre

I'm guessing it's Albert "Stubbins" Zapater
surf Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Hamann's a legend, an integral part of our treble season team and the Champions League winning team. He's a great signing for Bolton and i'm sad to see him go so soon, i'd have hoped he'd stay another season.
madaboutlfc Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 really sad and out of the blue.. the most underrated player since whelan for me.. one of the best signings in the last 10 years
RafaShanks Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 No testimonial for him then? Great servant, but not surprised. Good luck and all the best Didi.
ozziecazzie Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 I salute you, Didi Hamman. You are, and will always be, a Kop legend.
Guest Prongsy Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 He was 'handy' after coming on in the european cup and fa cup finals... you could say.
Herbie von Smalls Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 great disciple of LFC. sad to see him leave without a proper farewell. YNWA Didi. Mach's gut!
cochyn Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 I'm a bit taken aback by this. Like others, I thought he'd hang his boots up here in a couple of years time. Ah well time and tide etc. He's been a grade 'A' colossus since he signed. (We deffo wouldn't have won No5 without him). I sincerely wish him all the best. (So that's why Svennis played Carra centre-mid.. ).
Romario Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 s****!!! TOP TOP TOP Player. Hamann, Morienties and Cisse all gone. We're due some top signings just to keep at the same level nevermind going forward.
madaboutlfc Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 wierd coz he was really good for even this season
don gato Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 good luck and all the best Didi, been the dog's proverbial for us... shame he's leaving Rafa to play for such a bell-end though
Internationinteroperability Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 First the Cisse news and now this. Gutted Hamann has been world class for us, no doubt.
Clay Davis Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 legend. absolute legend. thanks Didi, you will be missed.
Guest Cally77 Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 I would have kept him on as his experience is valuable, but I can also see Rafa's reasons for letting him go. We need someone in that position who can play more than 15/20 games a season.
