I can see this happening, actually

me too, not sure why, I just have a feeling that Lampard hasn't been in focus in the media like he usually is... Chelsea buying Ballack is a massive hint too... Whether they bought him and told Lampard there would be room for both I aint sure, but I reckon Lampard isn't as attached to that club as much as some think.

John Terry has convinced him otherwise.

Me too, for a number of reasons.

The Spanish wife for one.

I can't stand the lizard-lipped, David Platt clone as much as the next man, but I reckon he's better than Ballack.

If Gallas and Lampard left that would makes things very interesting.

agree with lee..

it would be a stupid move for chelsea to sell him, hopefully this is the begining of the end for chelsea....more and more sub-par past it money grabbing Galacticos to be bought in...

And pleasssseee complete the signing of Roberto Carlos, cant wait to see Gerrard destroy him next season.

Eidur G is first up at midday today. He will tell Barca if he is coming or staying in the PL.

Barca have been talking on and off with Lampard's agent Steve Kutner since March.

The original idea was for Lampard to sign for the 2007-2008 season, but over the last fortnight Kutner has made it clear to Barca that Lampard wants out of Chelsea asap. Kutner has also told the club that there will not be any snags involved in a possible move.

My friends are convinced that Mourinho has Deco tapped up if Lampard leaves.

The fact that Lampard and his mates talk relatively openly about him going to Barca is a fairly strong sign, IMO.

Interesting cheers for that, I can see quite a few of the squad getting peed off with the route the Chavs are taking by buying BIG but ageing players. They are really setting their stall out for the CL.

I think FL going to Barca would be a good move for him he could play attacking football instead of the stifling play the chavs have adopted recently.

Not convinced Deco will hold up in the Premiership either to be honest. Very very eager to go to ground (obviously will fit right in at Chelsea) but not sure he's really tough enough. No doubting his class mind you.

He's a bit like Aimar, low centre of gravity and great balance so he's pretty hard to push off the ball. He's used to getting kicked too.

Think deco would struggle in the premiership personally, can see mourinho giving it one maybe two more seasons then fecking off too. iniesta lampard and xavi looks like a great midfield line up, anyone know whats happening mark van bommel though? Figaro?

Posted

Thought this was just Lampard looking for an improved contract at Chelsea to be honest.

Doubt it - Barca and his agent have been seriously negotiating (ALLEGEDLY - wouldn't want to put my foot in it;)) to tell the truth it's been his agent that's done all the offering, not the club. Barca have said that they are interested and will sign. Lampard has to sort his end out now.

But Lampard's fat and rubbish and all his goals are from deflections and he only looks half decent because the team are built around him and he's fat and rubbish. Why would Barca want to sign him?

Posted

as much as a i hate lampard, theres no getting round the fact that he has been a major reason why chelsea have won the premiership 2 seasons in a row, selling him would be an insane move by chelsea.

Can't see why on earth they'd need him with Iniesta proving to be a master of all trades in midfield. God, I hope Barca don't go own the 'galactico' route...
