L. Ron Hubbard's bestseller Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health has, for 56 years, been a pacesetter for those seeking to get rid of stress and "ignite the potential" of the human mind. And in a year in which it has sparked more grassroots interest than ever before, a Dianetics racing team announced its entrance into one of the world's most popular sports, joining the NASCAR family.

Unveiled on May 19th at the Book Expo America (BEA) in Washington, D.C., is the new "Ignite Your Potential" Dianetics Racing Team, headed by Kenton Gray, founder of Freedom Motorsports Group, Inc., and a top performing Southern California racecar driver.

A racer since the age of 10, Gray is not only a standout behind the wheel?placing first in five races over the past year and top-five in dozens of others?he is also an instructor at the LA Racing Experience on one of the best short tracks in America, Irwindale Speedway in Southern California.

Gray has enjoyed success in using Dianetics in his career and personal life since first reading the book in 1996. "I'm proud and excited to now have the Dianetics Racing Team sponsoring my car," he said.

Gray's edge is his concentration, which he says has greatly improved by the use of Dianetics techniques in gaining confidence and certainty behind the wheel. "It's markedly improved my focus and my consistency," he said. "Through Dianetics I've handled stress and increased my performance and ability to compete?both on the track and in life."

That, to Gray, is what "Ignite Your Potential" means to anyone who wants to succeed in whatever they're doing. "In life, it's all about knowing how the mind works and then using more of it to overcome stress, gain greater self-respect and improve your quality of life," says Gray.

The California racer's hard-charging manner is shared by his Freedom Motorsports' CEO, Grant Cardone. He, too, credits Dianetics for much of his success. Cardone, a multi-million dollar real-estate investor and motivational speaker, appears internationally at over 150 conferences and motivational events for sales and business development each year.

"I feel I was born to motivate others and as a speaker I can help inspire people?no question about it," said Cardone. "But one thing even the best of the best motivators can't do is solve the problems of the mind?and that's what L. Ron Hubbard has done, in detail, in Dianetics."

Published on May 9, 1950, the perennial bestseller is nearing 22 million copies sold and has made hundreds of appearances on major bestseller lists, including 99 weeks on The New York Times'. In Dianetics, Mr. Hubbard isolated the single source of stress, worry, self-doubt and psychosomatic illness?the reactive mind, that portion of the mind that works on a totally stimulus-response basis, and not under the conscious control of the individual.

The Dianetics racecar was showcased?and the book's new sales campaign announced?at the Book Expo America, May 19-21 at the Washington, D.C. Convention Center.
