Considering United paid £30 million for Ferdinand and £28 million for Veron, Chelski paid £25 million for Essien and £24 million for Drogba - I wouldn't say that Shevchenko is overpriced at £30 million at all. Ballack was on a free so even given his massive wages he still works out rather cheap!!

 

Andy Johnson I agree is definately overpriced though!

are watford going to sign a full-time 'keeper for next season? could probably do worse than pidgeley.

Lenny was on loan at Watford and looked like a good prospect - certainly a keeper that many other clubs in the Premiership should look at. I'm not surprised he's leaving - his career is dead if he doesn't.

 

And I don't know if Watford will get Foster off the mancs for another season on loan, but if not I would expect them to take a look at Pidgeley.

It's not a contest to see who can buy the most expenisve signings in the shortest space of time, it's about finding the right players who will improve our side, which doesn't need that much to be honest.

 

If the players aren't available yet, we'll have to wait.
