Greenoak Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Well thats 3 in the bag BallackKalouSheva It helps to be rich. Just wish we would get one in the bag. God even Birmingham and Everton have got one each in the bag. Come on Parry get that cheque book out.
Nebraska Red Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Chelski have overpaid for every one of those 3 players. Everton have overpaid for a journey man forward, he's good but not worth 8.6 million quid. Brum are division 2 and therefore totally insignificant. Rafa et all will buy and pay when they are ready. There is no hurry, it is still May.

Considering United paid £30 million for Ferdinand and £28 million for Veron, Chelski paid £25 million for Essien and £24 million for Drogba - I wouldn't say that Shevchenko is overpriced at £30 million at all. Ballack was on a free so even given his massive wages he still works out rather cheap!! Andy Johnson I agree is definately overpriced though! Edited May 31, 2006 by Shanklyanfield

liverbird04 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 As long as we don't get to the last day of the transfer window in the hope of signing a right winger I will rest relatively easy.
Guest RedLegend Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Chelski have overpaid for every one of those 3 players. True but Abramovich probably has a few more gazillion lying around the back of the sofa at home.
Tones Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Im sure its all Parrys fault for not getting the cheque book out
Guest Scot Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 They're unlikely to get more league points I don't think, whatever their signings. Ballack and Sheva are CL signings. I still think we can run them close for the league title.
Maldini Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 AurelioPallettaGonzalez done and dusted. Short memories around here today.
Whitey Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 AurelioPallettaGonzalez done and dusted. Short memories around here today. Are they done?? Aurelio - all gone quiet, and nothing confirmed.Gonzalez - awaiting work permit application June 1, and you never know what might happen there...especially as he announced he might not play for Chile again after his autograph signing in the bedroom incident
Stevie H Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Will he be fourth choice behind Lenny Pidgeley ? Or was Kenyon lying about wanting to bring through English youth... think i read that stoke or someone were interested in pidgeley. are watford going to sign a full-time 'keeper for next season? could probably do worse than pidgeley.
Guest JamesA Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Lenny was on loan at Watford and looked like a good prospect - certainly a keeper that many other clubs in the Premiership should look at. I'm not surprised he's leaving - his career is dead if he doesn't. And I don't know if Watford will get Foster off the mancs for another season on loan, but if not I would expect them to take a look at Pidgeley.
Ostrich Man Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 with howerd out at everton i think foster should be coming back.
Guest Xabi34 Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 (edited) Yawn. Another 'why are s*** at transfers' thread. It's not a contest to see who can buy the most expenisve signings in the shortest space of time, it's about finding the right players who will improve our side, which doesn't need that much to be honest. If the players aren't available yet, we'll have to wait. Edited June 1, 2006 by Xabi34
Extraordinary Swindle Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Lenny was on loan at Watford and looked like a good prospect - certainly a keeper that many other clubs in the Premiership should look at. I'm not surprised he's leaving - his career is dead if he doesn't.Liverpool were looking at him before signing Carson. Mourinho also added that he was close to capturing goalkeeper Hilario from Portuguese club Nacional de Madeira. "He has the ideal profile in view of our requirements. Hilario is not only bright but has common sense," he said. Is he the same Hilario that gifted Man Utd four goals in the Champions League some years back playing for Porto?
