Next month, we'll be hosting several advance screenings of the new psychological thriller Hard Candy. Directed by first time filmmaker David Slade and starring Patrick Wilson and Ellen Page, the film is an intense, thought-provoking examination of the unknown dangers that lurk within the confines of internet chatrooms.

 

Having become fascinated with each other online, Jeff (Wilson) and Hayley (Page) decide it?s time to meet in the flesh. However, after their initial rendezvous it becomes obvious that 14-year old Hayley is convinced that Jeff is an internet paedophile and is determined to punish him for his alleged wrong doings.

 

Hard Candy was described in this month?s Empire (July Issue) as ?an intelligent, challenging film which deserves to be seen?as a cinematic experience it delivers all the goods?.
