I thought it was hilarious that Motson accused the Hungarian Keeper of 'games-man-ship' for delaying the penalty yet ignored the fact that Gerrard 'dived' to get the bloody thing.

 

I can understand a player jumping out of the way of a 2 footed challenge, that is the only defence I could give but it does not look good.

not at all. davies was always nothing but professional. didn't spout bolllocks like motson does and generally called it as he saw it.

Utterly horrible experience. Everything from the hair gel, to the obscure facts, to the thinly veiled xenophobia, it's all crap. He's not even competent, he gets OUR players mixed up with each other all the time, or cant recall their names. He pushes an a****** agenda through ridiculous leading questions to the summariser, and is basically a waste of space. He's an in-joke that 25 years out of date.

It was a dive in my opinion and I didn't like seeing it, BUT, as pointed out had he not got out of the way promptly he was getting carried off from a nasty two footer.

Also, he probably thought that he deserved an end reward for the fantastic drag back and turn in the lead up and that attempted tackle just served it up on a platter for him!
