Guest Kev Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 His foot will not heal in time for the second group stage now. Defoe has been told to pack his bags but to keep everything quiet. The newspapers are actually sitting on this as well. According to the sources' source most of the England camp know, the press know, but they are showing some kind of solidarity towards the team and not releasing it until Sven does. There is a large pinch of salt with this info, so take it as you wish. I'm not standing by it I'm just passing it on.
Cobs Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 if true they'd be best to release the info asap - let the press have their feeding frenzy over how 'we're all doomed' now and let the players get on with their preparations. hang on - what second group stage?
Suth Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 its ok because pepe reina says Peter Crouch can do the Rooney role
£440,000 Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 There are Newcastle fans on the radio saying Sven should ask Shearer to go. Ignoring the fact it's a ludicrous idea, isn't he injured too? If he is then maybe he'll get the call.

Bootle Buck Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 There is only one man for the job I'm just not sure which one?
£440,000 Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 There is only one man for the job I'm just not sure which one? The one on the right looks a little like Mr Caruso. Who's it supposed to be?
Gunga Din Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 The one on the right looks a little like Mr Caruso. Who's it supposed to be? Mr Caruso. they made a waxwork of him as he is famous for posting on here. although they are looking for teh c*** who nicked his specks

Frosty Jack Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 (edited) It's been obvious since they mentioned that his injury included the joint, that he has absolutely no chance of being able to play. But yeah, Crouch can "do the Rooney role anyway". Edited May 30, 2006 by Aeroflot
Albertini Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Having suffered a fracture myself in early April (of the tibial plateau rather than the metatarsal) and learning a bit about fractures and breaks there is no way Rooney can be fit. I have been told that fractures and breaks can take anything upto 26 weeks to heal properly. On top of that the biggest issue is losing muscle in the leg when weight is not being put through it. you cant put that muscle back on in such a short time. He may play but he definitely won't be fit. it will be a huge risk for the lad.

Rimbeux Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 They're all in league with bookies i tells ya, that and they need to keep the story going for sales
quibs Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 If the media hype is to be believed looks like Rooney shouldn't have a problem of making it to the World Cup. He was doing scissor kick in training.
Stevie H Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 there's a long way from doing a stupid scissor kick in training to being stamped on by a cynical paraguayan defender.
Knox_Harrington Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 there's a long way from doing a stupid scissor kick in training to being stamped on by a cynical paraguayan defender.Let's only hope we get the opportunity to see the worthless c*** break his leg.
Guest Kev Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Well we'll know soon enough I suppose. I was wondering if the press started 'bigging up' Defoe there would be a clue.
Cobs Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 from the footage on TV he looks like he's gonna be OK but i guess the scan may tell a different story. Was shocked by the sense Gary Neville made in his interview, on boht Rooney and on England's chances in the Paraguay match etc...

Was shocked by the sense Gary Neville made in his interview, on boht Rooney and on England's chances in the Paraguay match etc... Rooney's a United player, Cobs. As for asking the press to back off and let him rehabilitate, it wasn't the press that insisted on him being in the squad!
Cobs Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Rooney's a United player, Cobs. As for asking the press to back off and let him rehabilitate, it wasn't the press that insisted on him being in the squad!i know he's a United player - so what? as for the Press - they were hardly demanding Rooney be dropped from the squad, they've talked of nothing but Rooney for the last 6 weeks. Not sure what point you're trying to make in any case.
Stevie H Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 he's obviously going to go to the world cup come hell or high water. but there's no way on earth that he can be ready to play for at least another three weeks.
