Guest Gerrards Jockstrap Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 According to Marca, he was injured in training this morning and has gone to hospital for an MRI on his hammy.
JohnnyH Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I'm sorry but if I'm honest I'd rather he has a slight pull that keeps him out of the World Cup and he comes back nice and fresh for us in July.

Phil236849 Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 xabi's not fast enough to suffer a major hammy problem
McBain Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 His mind is so quick he could have pulled a mental hammy
Phil236849 Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 His mind is so quick he could have pulled a mental hammy is that what some doctors refer to as a headache?
Guest Gerrards Jockstrap Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 His mind is so quick he could have pulled a mental hammy LOL.

Stevie H Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 xabi's not fast enough to suffer a major hammy problemhammy's aren't always a pace thing though.
Phil236849 Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 hammy's aren't always a pace thing though. often are though stevie. when you hear the words "hamstring strain", you think of the little wee scrawny whippets like owen (and his spectacularly painful looking strains in mid sprint) giggsy dyer etc or put it another way, did jan molby, razor ruddock or mickey quinn ever suffer one?
AE Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Dr AE recommends a 6 week rest followed by intensive pre-season training.

Flasher Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I'm sorry but if I'm honest I'd rather he has a slight pull that keeps him out of the World Cup and he comes back nice and fresh for us in July. I'm sorry but i'd rather Xabi had an excellent world cup for Spain, so hope he gets fit. The world cup is the biggest thing in football. It happens once every 4 years (full of insight eh..) and is an amazing spectacle with the best players in the world. Xabi himself will be desperate to play a huge role. I really don't get all this anti international football stuff. Football comes first. International football is the peak of any player's playing potential. Sure, I don't want any LFC players to get injured, but that's just the way it is. The game of football itself is bigger than LFC and always will be. Just my view like.

You can do your hamstring stretching, turning, jumping or even just excersising in a warm up. I'm sorry but i'd rather Xabi had an excellent world cup for Spain, so hope he gets fit. For me, the game of football itself IS Liverpool FC and other teams are there to be beaten!
Bigal Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Dr AE recommends a 6 week rest followed by intensive pre-season training. I hear steven gerrard has a cold, what does Dr AE recommend for that?
£440,000 Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I hope he's ok, has a great World Cup and scores the winning goal in the final. It'd be the perfect way for him to warm up for winning the Premiership next year.
JohnnyH Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I hear steven gerrard has a cold, what does Dr AE recommend for that? A move to a warm climate like Milan? Respect your opinion, but during any of these games I will just be s***ting myself that someone goes over the top on Xabi or Stevie and breaks his leg or does his cruciate, putting him out for 6 months to a year.
AE Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I hear steven gerrard has a cold, what does Dr AE recommend for that? Six week lay off relaxing in Las Vegas accompanied by a Mr J Carragher, followed by pre-season training.
Guest Kev Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 hammy's aren't always a pace thing though. Very true, I tore mine a few years ago and I'm not exactly the human equivalent of a whippet.
Guest Gerrards Jockstrap Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Don't think this is totally accurate - it's Del Horno who has gone for the MRI scan. According to both Marca and AS Xabi took part in the two physical training sessions but not in the 6 on 6 games due to muscular problems. Radio Marca said he - Xabi - had gone for a precautionary scan. Plus Del Horno's injury is, I believe, his ankle, thus the association between Xabi and hamstring and Asier of the Furnace and ankle was correct. I think.

Ruddock certainly did, a couple of times at least, 'cos I remember thinking that in his case it was probably indictitive of a lack of basic fitness/conditioning. Can happen to anyone to be honest, no real rhyme or reason to it.
