Guest Red & Green Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 "Now Cisse has been effectively transfer-listed, along with ten or so other Houllier signings no longer wanted by the club." Who are these 10 or so players. I can only think of 8 off the top of my head. Le TallecKirklandDudekDiaoCherou Pongolle?TraoreMedjani French clubs in for Cisse May 29 2006 By Chris Bascombe, Liverpool Echo FERNANDO MORIENTES says Valencia are the only club which could have attracted him to leave Anfield this summer - as Rafa Benitez now sets his sights on off loading another member of his strike force. With Morientes £3m switch to La Liga now complete, Djibril Cisse will follow him out of the exit door when the re-cord signing finds a suitable club. Although it's been an open secret Benitez is willing to sell Cisse, the manager has now gone further and taken the ruthless step of telling the forward he's no longer part of his plans and can speak to other clubs. It's a huge blow for Cisse who's regularly stated his preference to stay at Anfield, but it's been clear for some time the Liverpool boss wanted to replace the forward he inherited from Gerard Houllier. Now Cisse has been effectively transfer-listed, along with ten or so other Houllier signings no longer wanted by the club.Marseille appears to be the most likely destination for Cisse, although it's inevitable the Reds must accept a significant loss on the £14m they paid Auxerre in 2004. Cisse, speaking to reporters at France's World Cup training base at Clairefontaine, admitted that he had been in contact with three leading French clubs. The 24-year-old said: "I am in contact with Marseille and Lyon and I have also had an approach from Paris St Ger-main. I want to decide very quickly."

CarraLegend Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Ten 'or so' suggests it's a random number plucked from thin air by Bascombe. I knew this would be a dig at him as soon as I saw you had replied. Not to keen on him are you?
Stevie H Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 does it count kids like whitbread, partridge, potter etc?
kop205 Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Kewell at the right price and if the incoming deals go through. Though in reality it is possibly just a slight exaggeration by Bascombe to emphasise his favourite 'Houllier ruined this club' theme. (Not that he is necessarily incorrect in his criticisms, just that he repeats the same ones over and over and over and over again).
Stew F Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 (edited) Potter?Whitbread?Raven? The Echo (Bascombe) was reporting a mass clearout this summer at the weekend "does it count kids like whitbread, partridge, potter etc?" Yes the report did mention the reserves Edited May 30, 2006 by Veggie Kray
Guest Xabi34 Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I think if Gonzalez gets his permit on thursday Rafa will defo listen to offers for Kewell. We're very strong on that side.
Benitez Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I knew this would be a dig at him as soon as I saw you had replied. Not to keen on him are you? He's just another bogstandard journalist to me, and there's not many I like or hate, just pure indiference. Just that comment does suggest that doesn't it - it's very random
Mono Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 does it count kids like whitbread, partridge, potter etc?I don't think Richie Partridge after his season at Sheff Wed and subsequent release would have much to do with us this summer

Guest tommysmith Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I think if Gonzalez gets his permit on thursday Rafa will defo listen to offers for Kewell. We're very strong on that side. Lets not start this. The application goes in Thursday. Dont expect a reply for a few weeks.
Guz Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I think if Gonzalez gets his permit on thursday Rafa will defo listen to offers for Kewell. We're very strong on that side. Maybe next year. It would be a huge risk to sell Kewell in Gonzalez first season in England. And I dont think we're that strong on either wing to be honest. I'd rather have Kewell than Riise, Warnock or Zenden in midfield, maybe even Garcia.
Frosty Jack Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 does it count kids like whitbread, partridge, potter etc? Partridge has renewed his contract with Koptalk.
Huyton_Red Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Dont forget we are apparently signing aurellio (Spelling) as well for the left
c00p Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Although i would be sad to see him go i think you can include Didi to that list. He has been a great servant to the club and would be a great player to have as back up but at his stage in his career he might want 1st team football which i dont think he is. Hope he stays however as he will be offered another seasons deal due to the amount of games he played last season.
Kahnee Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 you are an exeption to my journo rule I'm an exception to most rules
