Jezzman Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Very interesting article in today's Marca about Daniel Alves. Among other things his agent makes it clear that there's no such thing as a first buy clause between Barcelona and Seville, which to me is great news. However the article also says that our interest have been cooled lately, which does sound a bit odd to me? Hope we get this lad! From what I've seen of him, I think he's just what we need on the right..... Quote ACCORDING TO HIS REPRESENTATIVE DECLARED. JOSE RODRIGUEZ BASTER Three great European clubs are interested in filing to Alves Europe Press - Seville Jose Rodriguez Baster, representative of Daniel Alves, announced that "three great European clubs" have asked for the player. Until the moment Barcelona appears like the club that more decidedly has bet, in principle, by Alves in the summer market of draftees. Asked about if the azulgranas there are ' movidó card to initiate the negotiation and to take control of the services of the player, Rodriguez Baster was clear. "To all the equipment that has called me, and in addition to everybody publicly, I have said to him that first that they must do it is to speak with Seville and to reach an agreement with the club. To me it does not consist to me that today some movement has become, does not consist to me -- it insisted --, but it does not mean that one has not become ". In fact, Alves, that fulfills 23 years next the 5 of June, has materialized a shining season, finished off with its great performance in the end of the Glass of the UEFA, although it has contract with the sevillistas until 2011 and one clause of 60 million euros. In the past summer, when Barcelona yielded to Seville to Saviola, one commented that both organizations had decided a preferential right on Alves in please culés. Rodriguez Baster is butcher when the appointment this question. "That does not exist, because any preferential right must go signed by the player and Alves has never signed nothing. He can have a verbal agreement between the clubs, but if she has not signed it the soccer player is as if nothing existed ", sentenced. Dialogue between clubsBe as it is, his agent insists in which all equipment interested in incorporating to Alves to its discipline must be put in agreement first with Seville, of inexcusable form. "Barcelona, in a while determined, was put in contact with us to know the situation of Daniel and we were directly transferred it to Seville. Since then not we have returned to speak with them, because from the first moment we left them very clear which was the line to work, that is to reach an agreement with Seville for, from there, to begin to work with us ", stressed the agent. The other name that has sounded in relation to Alves is the one of the Liverpool, although that interest of ' reds' lately seems to have stumped, in spite of which Rodriguez Baster does not give by closed this ' route inglesá and an additional short list even keeps awake, of squares that try the player. "nothing can be discarded and, in addition, there are that way great clubs also, that have not left published", it assured the representative the Brazilian. Finally, consulted about what equipment treats, Rodriguez Baster decided on silence. "I cannot say it by respect to the equipment, but I can say that there are three important clubs, at European level, that have shown their interest in Alves" concluded. http://www.marca.com/edicion/marca/futbol/...llo/653923.html
magneto Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I wonder if Alves will replace Kromkamp or be the new right winger? or both?
Guest JimmyJames Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 DaveU thinks Alves is still Rafas top prioritym and that he's desperate to get him. That's good enough for me.
Swagger Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 magneto said: I wonder if Alves will replace Kromkamp or be the new right winger?or both? I think he will be used predominantly as a right winger, filling in at right back only if the need arises. It would seem that he is Rafa's top target for the right wing, lets just hope Sevilla don't do a Simao on us and keep increasing his price.
psl Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Don't get the demi-God status afforded to Dave Usher by some.

As have Elisha, Kev and David Hodgson. It is not always 100% provable, in that they may say we are interested in someone yet as we don't sign them we can never know for sure, but they have a track record of giving good honest information purely for the benifit of fans. Considering the increasing amount of bullsh*t appearing on here by, presumably kids, wanting some attention, I think that is something to be appreciated.

However it is embarassing on there how they all suck his c**k. If anyone else posts a rumour on there (usualy robbed from here!) a typical response is "I refuse to believe this until Dave U says its true" or "OMG, he would be a great signing, Dave can you confirm". Sometimes its more of a Dave U fan club on there than a fansite. However thats not really his fault. And as you say he does provide some good info. oh but Kev's posts are all b******s

All of what Dave U has to say is on here in minutes anyway so there is no need, as is everything posted on all other forums, unspeakable or not. johngibo YPC said: oh but Kev's posts are all b******s Yeah, I know, but I didn't want to get banned

Joshytoohotty Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 "Three great European clubs are interested" So at least we know that Chelsea aren't after him.
Maldini Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Coming to a pub near you this summer "Source off!" starring Dave U, Kev, David Hodgson, Elisha Scott and many many more. Watch this epic battle as trusted sources go head to head in the ultimate battle. Who will win the Rollerdex top trump? Watch this space...(The other space over there is way better though)
Figaro Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Saviola is not staying at Sevilla - Barca want to use him as bait for Forlan's arrival - the public message to be given is that Sevilla CF have got rid - Saviola did not want to take a 50% pay cut here. All this means that Alves will not be used as currency in a Saviola & Sevilla CF deal. Barca's somewhat limited "first call" on the player has just gone out of the window. As for Alves being Rafa's top priority I've been saying that since last May much to the chargrin of some on here

Guest AdamS Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 For those that don't frequent TLW much there is a bit of an in joke where people ask "Have you heard anything Dave?", "Can you confirm Dave?" or say "I agree with Dave 100%!" etc. Perhaps without the context it looks a bit odd. In fairness to Dave he told me Liverpool were interested in bringing Fowler back when he played for City's reserves against us... that's a couple of months before it happened. His info is usually very good.
Guest Xabi34 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Bored with this already. If Barca and Madrid are really interested then we face a long drawn out bidding war, which we'll lose, and we could end up with no one. If not, and Rafa is so desperate to sign him, just pay Seville and the player what they want, or move onto the next target.

forde Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I doubt he would go to Madrid as they already have Cicinho! With the Saviola deal now having broke down anything could happen!

Madrid haven't made a move nor expressed any interest. The only thing LFC have to do is up their last offer by 3 million Euros

Although hopefully Milan wil get relegated to clear the way for us a bit.

Figaro Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Benitez said: So they want 15 mill yeros? Not gonna happen is it. My thoughts exactly. Del Nido holds LFC in high esteem - though they "robbed" Barrágan from under his nose he has said more than once that LFC paid a compensatory fee that was "over-the-odds". Relations are fluid, but I can't see Rafa forking out so much. Perhaps a player and cash deal?
