smithdown Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 "I don't know how much power David Dein has but he obviously has a great influence at the FA," said Allardyce. ...Allardyce added: "We do know one thing, he wouldn't want the rest of the committee to go for Arsene Wenger. "I am sure he would have batted that back with as much vigour as possible." Yeah, maybe Dein was saying 'don't choose wenger - we need an ingerlishman for the job. not sam though obviously he's a feckin embarrasment.' If Fat Sam had've got the job he wouldn't be whingeing about Dein would he? The daft ha'porth.
Zoob Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Pure sour grapes. I really think Dein's role regarding Wenger is irrelevant. Wenger repeatedly said he wasn't interested in the England job (and that it should go to an Englishman), and I believe him. He's an intelligent bloke, the Arsenal fans love him, they're moving into a great new stadium, he's managing one of the greatest players in the world. Why would he swap that for the poisoned chalice of the England job?
McBain Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 If Allardyce spoke out against Hitler i'd be seriously tempted to grease my hair and grow a small moustache
