Guest Vegara Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 My spanish isn't great but this article says that we are willing to sell Xabi! It says we need cash and selling Xabi is an option... http://www.as.com/articulo/futbol/Xabi/Alo...sdaiftb_38/Tes/
Montse Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Dont understand a word of it but it smacks of pre WC transfer window medya b****x. Rafa would be out of his mind to sell him
fyds Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Madrid have wanted him for a while and AS are doing their bidding - no worries.
smithdown Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Seems to say everyone is up for sale except for Gerrard. We'll sell Xabi at a profit so that we can sign Alves and two forwards. Its a load of sh*te, obviously. Expect much more of this if Alonso has a stormer in the WC.

Exactly - apart from which Rafa has already said this week that Luis is not for sale - so if Luis is not for sale despite what they say, you can bet your butt Xabi isn't.
brucelee Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 XABI ALONSO IS IN THE MARKET-------------------According to AS he is. One can only hopethere is no truth to this. Babelfish: XABI ALONSO IS IN THE MARKET--------------------------------------The Liverpool needs money to make draftees. ---Xabi Alonso continues being shot of Madrid. The Liverpool needs to make box to make draftees and to compete with the Abramovich giant, that already has reinforced its equipment of an important way with the arrival of Ballack and the almost safe one of Shevchenko. The organization of Anfield Road does not have money in box and in England it is rumored with force that all their players are for sale if a supersupply by them arrives. All less Gerrard, the great captain who renewed the last season. The intention of the Liverpool is not to sell at a loss, nor to transfer more than two cash, but if it arrived a good supply by Xabi Alonso would study. Rafa Benítez has requested the draftee of Daniel Alves and two forwards.------------

If Rafa had to sell Xabi to sign players, he'd be out of the door quicker than you could say Real Madrid. They ran a similar story about Fabregas a week or so ago.
Rimbeux Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 We've nobody else who can play his role, make us tick, far more likely to be looking for cover for him, rather than sell him. Two cash? I think we'll be shifting more than that, but not the best players. Same lines used regarding Gerrard last summer IIRC
Guest YKI Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Both AS and Marca appeal to the common idiot e.g. lets make up stories so they'll be excited and buy a copy.
anny road Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 (edited) brilliant article that isnt it everyone is for sale except Gerrard (erm Reina? Carragher? Finnan? Sissoko? Fowler? ERM GARCIA?????) to name a few f***ing Madridista stirring c**** Edited May 27, 2006 by anny road
FanaticDane Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 That has to be a f***ing lie. he is sooo important, rafa cant mean that.xabi out=rafa out
Guest Xabi34 Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Do you think there could be some truth in this? You never know with the Spanish lads if they are fully settled or a bit homesick, especially a young single lad like Xabi.

You never know with the Spanish lads if they are fully settled or a bit homesick, especially a young single lad like Xabi. You could be right. I seem to remember an interview where he said he misses the fresh seafood back home in San Sebastien. Oh Bo**ocks. He's off isn't he?
Guest donners29 Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Can't see this being true he is toomuch of a pivital player for us
Tetti Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Pesonally have always had the feeling that there was a killing to be made on Alonso, if or when we choose to do so. And that we and he would choose to at some point.
Guest Xabi34 Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 (edited) I'm not trying to be negative, but we have to be practical about these things. He's a top player and top clubs will aways be sniffing around, so if his head is turned we have to be prepared. I wouldn't dream of selling him, but if we did we would make a huge profit on him which will only help Rafa in the transfer market. Edited May 27, 2006 by Xabi34

G Richards Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 There's no way Xabi is for sale. But I do feel most players have a price, even if they aren't particularly for sale. Something like £20M plus Ronaldo might at least get Rafa talking. But it's a nothing story - unfounded speculation.

You never know with the Spanish lads if they are fully settled or a bit homesick, especially a young single lad like Xabi. Hes won like 3 trophies in his first two seasons at the club, surely any feelings of being homesick is kept to a minimal, thanks to the sucess hes enjoyed. Besides if hes mising home he can always hang out with Rafa and Garcia.
Hightown Phil Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Alonso wants to play for Liverpool, Alonso is a big part of Liverpool's future. What a stupid non story.
