O.K. Two years ago on this forum, a lot of guys were talking about backing Baros for Top Goalscorer. I jumped on the bandwagon and collected a nice packet when he pulled through.

Obviously as a liverpool player he was going to be discussed more than most at the time.

So what are peoples opinions this time around.

Personally, Klose at 22/1, looks good to me.

and what about Dirk at 50/1

Garcia as an outside bet? Spain have only brought three strikers, so there's a chance he'll get a few games up front. And we all know about Luis' ability to be at the right place at the right time when the ball drops in the area. He scored a hattrick for Spain not too long ago.

Luca Toni at 20-1 with William Hill. Nice little £20 stake. Its 1982 all over again, Italy emroiled in a scandal, Brazil clearly the best side in the competition. It's as much fate as last year, with the Pope, Ken and Deidre, and Charlie boy

My money will be on Toni or Nistelroy. Two top class strikers with a point to prove and the team to deliver the chances.

I backed Baros last time around. Don't think he will be anywhere near this time.

milan will well be on one tryin to get a decent move...

No doubt and he'll probably have a good tournament. Don't think he'll be up there among the top three though.

David Villa. Spain are probably going to score quite a few goals in their group, and they are building their attack around him arent they?

Will Gerrard continue his goal-scoring feat on for a full calendar year? Maybe if he's separated from Lampard and played 'in the hole'. I can certainly see him banging in 3 or 4 from 25 yards.

But I can also see the position being too much and him ripping his hamstring. It's all part of Fergie's plot - the faked Rooney injury one. :detective:

Lump your mortgage on Crou... sorry, couldn't quite finish that without laughing. Van Nistelrooy - p*ssed off and in the shop window.

cant look past teh Brazilians. they have a group that looks like they score a bucketload. i reckon it could be one of their strikers, which wont offer as much value

Koller is great value - hes scored shed loads in the qualifiers, reckon he'll outscore Baros, although Milans good value aswell.

The Czechs are good value on everything really, 33/1 on blue square to win it outright, and there absolutely full strength apart from Smicer - Definately worth a few quid on that - no doubt once they beat USA everyone will jump on the bandwagon again and their odds will be absolutely slashed.

Luca Toni and David Villa are the two I'm going to back.

Toni is incredible value at 20-1 considering he's just become the first player to score 30 Serie A goals in a season for God knows how long.

Villa at 25-1 is a fantastic finisher and has had a phenomenal first season at Valencia - he's the type of player who could score a hat-trick in the groups for me.

Still think Ronaldo will be top scorer, but his odds are too short really.

Whenever I am feeling a little down, I just look for your latest posts.:lol: Works every time.

I can face the world again.

I will put money on RVN but I have a feeling old Ronny is going to shut his critics up.

Podolski is a good shout. You can get odds between 30/40 to 1 on him.

He scored 2 the other night, and he's striker for the home nation. Not to mention the fact that he should move clubs after the World Cup and Germany have a fairly easy group. They put 7 past Saudi Arabia in the last world cup and with a group that includes Costa Rica and Ecuador there is a chance they could do it again.
